Better is putting money where his mouth is.
How about you?
You Are like going around farting smelly air.
If you think it will go down to 79/80, then short and don go around farting. 💨 💨 💨

Borrowing shares to sell is definitely not considered a short sell from the regulator' s point of view. It is a private arrangement/ contract between 3 parties that MAS or regulators do not have any right to interfere.
For example, say Vanguard bought 100 million SCM shares and parked it with DBS Nominees Pte Ltd. Vanguard agreed to loan their shares to BOA (Bank of America) for a consideration of 5% p.a. (daily interest). BOA then sold the SCM shares on the open market. To MAS, SCM' s shares owned by Vanguard have been sold. The share borrowing arrangement is a private contract between Vanguard, DBS Nominees and BOA. Just like in trading futures, BOA will to put in cash as a margin so that DBSN can buy back the SCM shares to repay Vanguard anytime. If SCM' s share price rises, DBS Nominees will ask BOA to topup more cash if BOA does not want to buy back the SCM shares yet. If BOA is unable to do so, DBS Nominees will use the existing cash in BOA' s margin account to buy back SCM shares to repay Vanguard so that they would not incur any loss.
If you have traded futures before, the above example should be easy to understand.

Yes, then should look for bargains elsewhere because currently all the other shares are a bit overstretched. A big correction for them will present big opportunities.

terrible management it has... unable to innovate, unable to change... seriously wtf company
Yes, MAS has the report

We will know within days on how seriously we should take the new variant. Too early to brush it off as an exaggeration in view of its 30 mutations. Scientists are very worried.

I said at the moment, not saying variant can render vaccine btw South Africa variant is just  exaggerated, a reason for USA market to have a correction which is long due.

If the African variant really renders the vaccines completely ineffective, oil prices will collapse along with the whole stock market. While SCM did not benefit from rising oil prices as it should have, any collapse in oil prices will push SCM below 8 cts.

Naked shorts must be covered by end of the day. Not 3 days later (actually now it is T+2). T+2 SGX will buy back if it' s not covered at market + a couple of levels up (can' t remember the detail), plus penalties I think that are in the 1000' s.
I do believe MAS outstanding short positions report reflects the current short because it requires all trading houses to report that. Since it can' t be naked shorts, I would think all " borrowed" shares sold will be considered shorts.

I think SCM can be a good defensive counter at the moment
You are right, as long as the share price don't go up, they can take their own sweet time to cover. But once it goes up, they will try to suppress it and if it fails, they will rush to cover rampantly like the case of SIA and Ping Ann insurance at HK$48.7, causing the price to overshoot on the upside. Optimistically, I am hoping that the buyers will accumulate enough cheap shares and then ramp up to trigger the panic covering if indeed the Short position is large. But I don't have information on the Short positions, always thinking that the short position should be covered by now.

As of now, the evidences show Net Buying. I am cautiously optimistic. But I may be wrong, going forward

Even if the biggest fund, Vanguard which is parked under DBS Nominees will to sell all, it's only 560m shares. It should not be a problem for funds to absorb all.

My friend can't reveal. There's a big seller, but there are big buyers too. Most importantly, the NET BUYING or SELLING is more important.
