The central government has told Indonesia to enhance the shipments of palm oil to India, Reuters reports.
This has been done in order to make up for the loss of sunflower oil supplies from the Black Sea region due to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
The central government officials conducted a virtual meeting with the Indonesian authorities this week to increase palm exports to India.
Jakarta has also been asked to reduce their biodiesel blending rules. Currently, 30 per cent of all biodiesel sold in Indonesia need to be derived from palm oil.
However, Indonesia has curbed its palm oil exports to calm their local prices.
Vegetable prices have skyrocketed globally due to the halt in exports from the Black Sea route. The landed cost of imported crude palm oil has increased by 38 per cent in India since Jakarta declared export curbs on 27 th January.
Similarly, the soyoil prices have shot up by 29 per cent this year whereas the sunoil supplies have stopped amidst the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
" Edible oil prices have become a major challenge for us and we are reaching out to everyone" , a government official reportedly told Reuters.

So fast running out of steam already?
Those are my trading positions. I have some for longer term. My target is 45c.

I think more & more institutions got notice of this commodity stock & begin to accumulate after its good result announcement.
Sold 31c, counter party is Goldman Sachs. Sold 31.5c, counter party is Morgan Stanley. FYI & dyodd. |

Hehe nice to see you back here. You like to " hoot" people, no wonder you get banned, and consequently will have to hide and jump from one forum to the other. Me desperately blur? Hehe I have been holding a huge volume of GAR for almost 2 years now and do not intend to let go any time soon. Anyway, I enjoy your Indon speaking coffee shop updates and hope you will drop by here to update us whenever there is juicy news, under one nick or the other. Take it easy.

I am active elsewhere in five other forums, some under my LongXia brand name, some under other nicks but you can recognise the coffee shop uncles easily from their Bahasa lingo..

seems to me you are playing contra on this.. I already sounded out that the power may be wants a controlled measured rise, see my comments below. And as for my " small comment" , which I shouldn' t make in the first place, was based on coffee shops hearsay that there were " heavy" institutional buying, and they think it could be people selling to buy Golden. You can' t find it in the SGX Dara report, but there was a business times mention of it few days ago " Outside the STI, Mapletree North Asia Commercial Trust RWOU , Golden Agri-Resources Golden Agri-Res: E5H +1.82% , Suntec Reit Suntec Reit: T82U +0.63% , Keppel Reit Keppel Reit: K71U +0.88% and Sheng Siong Group Sheng Siong: OV8 +0.66% were recipients to the highest net institutional inflows for the 5 sessions."
The bad thing about institutional buying, is that they will not chase the stock price to sky high, the good thing is they will not dump it so quick after buying. As for Golden, coffee shops are pretty sure they are " taking positions" for several brewings to come, one of which as I mentioned, would be the good FY results, which has been confirmed to be on 1 March. But you need not wait for then to hear any good news. You just need to find out Pt SMART results, which was supposed to be early this week, but postponed to next week. There is also belief that Golden is heavily backed to copycat Wilmar contemplating listing in India and China. The heavy buying, as opposed to trading and contra play, suggest the brewings may be heating up
As for Wilmar, institutional funds as I learned are back on again, ahead of results on next Monday, good results and a good payout is expected, and there has been brokerages upgrade ahead of the reults. UOB KH example gives it a six dollar TP. Wilmar India stock prices hav3 been doing amazingly well. That' s all I know.

Hehe thanks for the tip off but after the announcement of good results and the ongoing share buyback programme, perhaps they would be having their daily lunches in restaurants instead.

The company has" War-Chest" of US$100m(S$135.5m), let see how many Golden Agri shares the company can buy-back at 30c/p ?
(13 5 x 1,000,000) divide 0.30 = 451.7m shares. Is exciting going forwards for Golden Agri investors...

The company knows that its share price is being suppressed by BBsfor too long, n it doesn' t reflect it fair value, thus took very swift action after yesterday announment.
Great! More upsides coming.....
60c is too high, may be 50c...... however anything can happen in this crazy Energy crunch caused by Russia/Ukraine war & Ex-covid economics demand for palm oil. Added to this Golden Agri may take this golden opportunity to suddenly announce it' s India subsidiary Gemini Edibles IPO. Definitely retail investors n BBs will rush for a slice of cake in this super-cycle in Palm Oil history.
