SembCorp Marine- The new Frontier.

Agreed that everyone can give their comment and we should respect their opinion. For me, i only believe in the industry cycle. Oil and gas have no doubt is coming back now and will last for few years due to drop in investment in last few years as investor view it as sunset industry or restriction by green energy commitment. In fact, the green energy still far away to catch up the demend. So we still largely depend on the fossil fuel. 
I am may not believe in SCM management, but i believe with SCM background (Temasek). With many rigs have been cold stack, many oil field worker quit their job and join other industry.    The oil production will not catch up with the demand, at least not in coming 2 years. so prepare your electricity bil to be up and up. The oil price cycle is coming. Any industry survived in this crisis (actually from 2014 till now) will get benefit on it. 
For the cost overrun, This is not only SCM problem. All the marine/construction have faced the same problem, not only marine site, as long as you get your order more than 6 month ago or more, either cost over run or no profit at all. Labour/transport/raw materials/regulation all in trouble. My containers has been stuck in china for 3 weeks and still no news about when to start sailing.
For the contract/order side, oil and gas unlike you go to pasr borong buy fish or vege. It need years or few years to plan and execute. The oil price just started in last few month, so you will see the contract coming, may be after half year (for the project on hold before covid) or a year(new project).
If you compare situation now with the last year. it is very unfair and mislead. because the market is very different already.

 

That we don't know. But one thing is for sure. That's when BETTER make a call to buy when the price is between 7.9 cents and 8 cents, many follows. So no point talking about things that no one can see. If I will you, I will post my short position at 8.9 cents if indeed, there is. Everyone will respect you. I will call you Sifu and buy you two bottles at any nightclub.

Yes.  Those who bought high and are stuck with SMM are infuriated that we are sold ours high and arr sitting on cash.  they are jealous.

They can always hold until SMM goes to 12.4c, 30c, 40.  No one is stopping them.  But I dont understand why they shd be angry with our sale of SMM and attempt to mock us.  It only show their lack of character

Whenever the price hit a new high, he will revise his short price to that level and conveniently ignore his call at 8 cents. So forever he is right. And boosted that he short at the Peak, but dare not post his short position. Don't waste time on aunties who only know how to envy and hope the worse for others like Trader 1987, talk like real, but got no guts to do. You must lead if you want others to follow you. Not just acting like a cry baby when prices go up. Dreamers never get anything done forever.

according to keppel, the merger will finalise in Q1 2022.
according to SCM, there should be contract win in H1 2022.
share price cannot drop below 8 cents after MGO and Q3 2021.
SCM shared optimistic view of more contracts in coming years.
More good news could come in from jan  2022 onwards.
the turning point should start from the merger news in Q1 2022.
share price could soar from Q1 2022 onwards.

 

 

No point envy others and hope the worse for them when the price goes up. It is not going to help you.
