if I apply for 5000 rights, I need to have 5000x0.695x1.37 = 4760.75. Correct???

James,...

1) If you select the Electronic Application Method, you just need to ' press-press' at the ATM. NO  NEED to do any form submission. You can just discard that package of the OIS and ARE that arrived at your house. But,... wait a minute,... are you based in SG ?

2) Yes to your second ' question' in the form of a paragraph,....you have understood well what happens the mechanics of process of Electronic Application  using the ATM.

Chengwh1,

If I choose the ATM method, I do not need to submit the form, right? Or no matter which method I choose, I still need to submit the pink application for rights form?

For the ATM method, I just login and pay with S$ in my account, the money will be converted to US$ to pay for the right and then returned to us later (conversion to S$) and we likely to incur some loss due to exchange rate.

Correct?

I am sure many of us have USDs parked in some foreign currency savings or current accounts somewhere,...

If you use the CDP Application Method and NOT the Electronic Method to apply for Excesses, then you will be transacting solely in the USD ONLY. Results would be : you will NOT risk suffering forex losses. The steps to apply using the CDP Method is very clear inside the  Offer Information  Statement (OIS) sent to our homes.

Let me know if you have questions,...

This could be a rare event of a US REIT doing a corporate action here,... Let us familiarise ourselves for future actions when MORE foreign currency-denominated  REITs are listed here,... after all, SG is the haven for REIT listings  now,... good REITs will finally come to our shores,...

Morning James,...

InvestNotTrade has replied well,... that' s what that will happen and you will  experience when you do it over the ATM. After the application period and the results are out, it will be another week or two before any unsuccessful ' application monies' are returned to you.

At the point of the refund period, the exchnage rate between our SGD and the USD would have moved,... therefore,... whatever USDs not used to buy any Excess units would need to be returned to you. This USDs would be ' re-converted' back into the SGD for you and the THEN-PREVAILING exchange rate. You may lose-out when this happens,... but of course, you may also gain if the exchange rate is in your favour at that time,...

Let me count for you,... this application period will be closing next week,... two weeks after that would be the beginning of November. I believed your ' refunded' SGD would be returned to you by,... well,... 1st of November. You can see how much SGDs you would receive then and compare this amt against any amount you sent in this week, but remember to  minus out the subscription amt that has been ' successful' .

Let me know,....

Chengwh1,

So, we use our DBS atm and login to it to pay via our money in our account. We convert the money into USD$ first then pay. Am I correct?

Sorry, I seldom do these things....thanks for your help.

I paid for my allocated rights at the ATM today, so maybe can answer your question.

The ATM told me the exchange rate for USD I' ll be paying for, ~1.3716. So the bank will convert the SGD to USD using this FX rate to buy the rights. Further down the thread, I read that the FX rate is exposed to market fluctuations - sad sia, apply for rights in tis short window also exposed to FX risks.

Yes, you can if you intend to convert into the USD from our funds inside your bank. The conversion rate will be at today' s forex rate. I use DBS, hence, if I used the exchange rate to convert over, my rate this morning will be 1.3694. Please cfm yr entitlement carefully, and pay an accurate figure based on your entitlement, factorin-in the exchange rate.

If you paid for LESS than your entitlement,  you will be given the number you paid for.
If you paid for  MORE than your entitlement, you will be given yr entitlement, and the excess cash will be used to apply for Excess Units.

One thing to be aware of is that for whatever  Excess Units  you applied for, if you are not successful, your funds will be exchanged back into the SGD AT THE THEN PREVAILING MARKET RATE on the day of the refund. Hence,... there is a risk you may suffer an exchange loss.

I hoped I have explained the above clearly,... and summarised the facts that are important to us for application at the ATM, otherwise known as Electronic Application, if you read inside the Offer Information Statement (OIS).

Let m know if there are further questions,... then you guys don' t need to read so hard,...

" ...or perhaps can view by Sunday too,... you can start to queue your R and R1 units by Sunday evening  if you wished to selloff.... "

As per the above written last Friday,... yes, I hereby confirmed  that the R and R1 Units can be seen in your CDP internet session NOW at this moment. You can start to queue to see or to buy if you wished to from now on !!!!!!!

Good luck, forummers,.... Remember to pay by,... latest,.... Monday, October 16th., 2017, 5 pm for  paper applications in the USD and by 9 pm for paying over the ATM in the SGD  !

DEar forummers,...

Manulife US REIT' s RIghts ticker symbols have been generated by the CDP system. They are available for viewing with the following ticker symbols :-
1) R units, in sizes of 100 units per R, ie per lot size : CLFR.
2) R1 units, in sizes of 1 unit per R1, ie unit size : CLGR. R1 basically allows one to sell or buy in single units if they have to, or wished to.

However,... if you sign-in to your CDP sessions, you will not be able to see your entitlement yet. I believed the CDP system will generate the entitlements for each unitholder by this weekend and upload into the system for you to see by the coming Monday morning... or perhaps can view by Sunday too,... you can start to queue your R and R1 units by SUnday evening  if you wished to selloff....

Investors are expecting price to be below 0.85 (post right issue) if they are not picking up @91.5 CR now.

Logically and mathematically,... then the reasons would be of one of the following :-
1) At the EGM, investors realized they could buy at cheaper prices later-on,..., OR,
2) Investors realized the ctr has some weaknesses from the presentation.
