It seems every item had bern scrutinized by many which is good. I am not worry about those minor details, currency presentation lose and financial asset gain/lost as these are paper gain/lost for that period of time. It can reverse anytime. My main concern is the increased NPL as expected by some given the challenging situation in 1H and the company did extremely well to manage it, and in fact reduce it. I do not think the company try to massag the figure. It is more like they contain the situation. The management team is highly talented and this give me confident to invest in the company. Beside, aI think the worst is over and look forward for more reducing NPL going forward.
The headline numbers look very nice indeed, even after taking into account huge rmb depreciation. But as with many china companies, have to scrutinize the details.
A lot of concerns in the report. Interest income derived from DI dropped by 18%. Discounting for 8% forex loss, that's still a whopping 10% decrease. The significant rise in profit came from "fair value change in financial assets" comprising fair value gain of listed and unlisted what's in China. That smells like a paper gain. Anyone knows what that is?
Another concern is this huge S$100m "other receivables" to "non related parties". For sure this will be queries by sgx.

REVIEW OF FINANCIAL POSITION
Our total assets decreased by approximately 1.7% or S$70.7 million from approximately S$4.2 billion as at 31 December 2022 to approximately S$4.1 billion as at 30 June 2023. The decrease was mainly because our presentation currency is SGD, while 85.5% of our group investment portfolio was in China as of 30 June 2023, our portfolio in RMB incurred a translation loss as a result of weaker RMB against SGD during the period (SGD/RMB 5.3442 as at the end of 1H2023 vs 5.1831 at the end of FY2022).

what are the good counters you recommend? CSC? potential take over target by far east? from 14 cents to now 7 cents, still holding? and wait until 1 cent or 1000 share consolidate into 1 share and price at 1 cent?
