ComfortDelGro to partially absorb higher fuel costs at its petrol pumps
It will also deploy fuel subsidies to ease the financial pressure on its drivers in the wake of higher pump prices amid the Iran war
[SINGAPORE] Taxi operator   ComfortDelGro (CDG)   : C52 -3.36% will absorb a portion of increased fuel costs at its petrol pumps, amid rising fuel costs due to the Iran war.

It will also deploy &ldquo targeted fuel subsidies&rdquo to reduce the financial pressure on its drivers, it said in a statement on Wednesday (Mar 4).

Michael Huang, who heads CDG&rsquo s point-to-point mobility business in Singapore, said that the moves were part of the company&rsquo s &ldquo broader commitment to driver welfare and operational stability during this period of volatility&rdquo .

&ldquo We are closely monitoring the impact of rising fuel costs driven by the ongoing geopolitical tensions and recognise the direct pressure this places on the livelihoods of our drivers,&rdquo he added.

Some petrol companies have raised their pump prices over the week, after petrol prices rose in tandem with the closure of oil supply channels due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

Shell was the first to raise its posted price of the popular 95-octane fuel by S$0.04 to $2.92 a litre on Tuesday morning.

Caltex increased its prices to match Shell&rsquo s after midday, a move that was followed closely by Esso. Sinopec backed the trend hours later.
SBB today - 300,000 shares bought at $1.4467 ($434,577)

According to very recent reporting (as of March 4 2026):
The U.S. and allied strikes have severely degraded Iran&rsquo s military capabilities.
A top U.S. military commander said that Iran has already fired hundreds of ballistic missiles and thousands of drones in retaliation, but that many Iranian weapons systems have also been hit.
Reports suggest hundreds of ballistic missile launchers and drone assets may have been destroyed by U.S./Israeli strikes &mdash significantly affecting Iran&rsquo s capacity to sustain large continued salvos.
This doesn&rsquo t mean Iran has no missiles or drones left, but it may reduce their ability to launch prolonged, large coordinated attacks compared with before the conflict.

Iran is not blocking it by lining up its ships across the strait.
It blocks by shooting missile or drone to ships that passed through.
Having ships or not is irrelevant.

US has destroyed almost all Iranian ships.  I think Iran is unlikely able to  fully block the Strait of Hormuz.

yes this is a company that exhibits potential because of its size and clear dividend policy.
however we must be willing to wait out for an increase in share price to perhaps the three dollar mark.
Let the winner take it all!

Thread startersnapp Start date23 minutes ago
A new multi-storey driving school in Choa Chu Kang will be operated by ComfortDelGro Driving Centre (CDC), which secured the tender after bidding $38 million.
In a joint statement on March 3, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) and Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) said CDC was the highest bidder for the 24,890 sq m plot in Lorong Bistari.
Located near Kranji Camp III, the Next-Generation Driving Centre will be the second multi-storey driving school in Singapore, after the Singapore Safety Driving Centre (SSDC), which opened in 2010.
The facility will not only utilise technology to teach new drivers and evaluate their skills, but will also cater to those applying for Class 4 and 5 heavy vehicle driving licences.
Currently, individuals applying for such licences can undergo training and testing only at the SSDC in Woodlands.
don't buy this one at the moment.
get sbs transit instead and also STEng.
