Bro Panda,
He wont be back anytime soon lah.
He bought about 800 lots of Genting at around $1.05.
Genting is at 79 cts now.
Paper loss is $208k.
Though its small change to this very wealthy man, I think its not about the money but about the ego.
He feels very very sian and very very tulan about this and chiam see dont want to think about this or talk about this.
So he took sabbatical leave to go and run his businesses first and from time to time have fun with his employees by
placing a RM50 note each under a row of beer glasses to entice his employees to drink up and get paid. That' s Round 1.
Round 2 will be RM100 under each beer of glass.
Round 3 will be RM150.
I think he ever said is max is RM200 per glass of beer.
Only a very wealthy man can afford to have this type of fun with employees.
But its a win-win lah. He happy. His emplyees lagi happy. Got free beer plus get paid to drink some more.
Perhaps when Genting has recovered to say $1.00 then he will come back to continue from where he left off.
Meantime, that thread is your thread and you should take ownership of it.
Becoz if you stop posting  in that thread, that thread will up lolly immediately and the jungle will reclaim it and grow all over it
until it is covered by thick vegetation and cannot be accessed anymore.

Bro Wave,
S& P500 tracks US 500 major companies but DOW tracks 30 US big cap companies only. Of course, S& P500 mirrors the movement of DOW because most of these companies tracked by DOW, also tracked by S& P500, because these companies have higher weightage in S& P500. But to reflect the overall performance of US market, S& P500 is the preferred indice to look at because it covers wider range of US industries, and some of these companies are also tracked by NASDAQ index.
Panda checked the repsonse of DOW Future after Yellen' s make her first call on rate hike on 16 DEC 2015. The fall,  about 13% not much lah compared to the " spiralling-down" happened in March last year, usual percentage of correction normally expected by the " qualified personal" , " Sup Sup Sway" .... Hehehe.....

Bro Duke1234,
Looking at your name I recall getting this Bicentennial note at the bank counter....a ladder serial number

One more to add, think DBS can go to $31 soon.
Ok Duke1234
Here you go...use the level indicated on the chart as support and resistance to trade the range.
We all should know by now DBS is the leader in the banking sector, the chart also confimed that
I have no level above recent high, it will be in unchartered waters...to the moon.
Since I am long a bank means I still like the banking stocks...hmm now I am hoping for DBS to
pull back.

Thanks for the OCBC chart bro TaikTalk, I too been trading the banks here and there (Bro Panda will know). Recently been out of the market but if you have time, can do chart for DBS and UOB as well? Kam sia
VIX - The Fear Index
Below chart show that we have many spikes in volatility within 2 consecutive weeks follow by at least 2 to 8 weeks
of lower market volatilities or lower level of fear of a market collapse.
Hopefully we can have better days ahead.
Cheers

Last Friday I bought OCBC on opening at $11.95, thought I had a good deal as it traded up
to high of $12.04 which is one cents higher than Thursday high, but as the day goes by it weakern
down to a low of $11.90 to end the day with a closed of $11.93.
Ressistance - 12.04, 12.12, 12.18, 12.32 & 12.36
Support - 11.88, 11.80 & 11.68
I expect OCBC to trade withing above support and resistance in the coming days.
Will consider take profits if fail to break 12.12/18 levels.
May consider adding near 11.80
Lets see...

Bro Panda,
Dow follows S & P ?
Not the other way round mare ?
You mentioned interest rate hike as a possible reason for market to go down.
History has shown that the start of interest rate hike policy will only create a knee-jerk reaction which may see selling for a while.
It wont send the market spiralling down. It wont.
You need proof?
Yellen.
During her term as Fed Chief, Fed Monetary Policy saw a U-Turn from keeping interest rate steady at near-zero level to a policy
of gradual interest rate hikes. Check back Dow chart and S & P chart to see what happened to the market from the time Yellen
announced the very 1st interest rate hike.

Bro Wave,

To see the overall US mkt, we have to look at S& P500. I used the it' s future chart here, US500. My initial estimation based on quick graphical method was 4100, and  thought that pull back might happen after it broke pyschological level 4000. I  re-evaluated this indice using Ellioott wave and Fibo levels after it crossed up 4100. Based on this method, the estimated " top" is aroud 4278 if my wave count is correct. Based on trendline analysis, Ang Moh is still " climbing" up hill. As long as he stays below 4200 for next few days, then, we might have a chance to see him fall down to lower level.  Some " negative" news might be coming, real interest rate likely to inch up, and " projected" inflation might be falling.  It would have negative impact on growth and technology stocks, and commodities.  Let' s see how the " shxt" wall street wolves are going to scare the market.

Bro,
Another reason is, Ang Mohs are eyeing on big bro TG' s back side. And maybe give him a flying kick out of sudden. So, the " black swan" can attack on big bro TG anytime as long as Ang Moh not happy with him. That is also why Panda decided not to paste it out on my ' drawing board" .
