Haha, let' s see (if I can see out another 25 yrs).  In any case if any new tech disrupts this fibre system, then govt wld probably find a reason to help write it off (how many yrs did the cable system last us anyway?).  I' m not saying this to support my case.  In fact, I' m saying so more as a critic n a cynic.  To my mind, we' re flushing too much $$$ down the drain

If, say,... for example,.. the incoming cashflow keeps decreasing and outgoing cashflow keeps going up at succeeding fiscal periods, there will be a negative nett cash effect. This will eat-in into the cashflow position, which includes the 700mil subsidy,...   Then,...trouble,..

Does it make sense to equate this with others like Hflux, etc?  This is an NBN initiated by the sg govt, with a 700 mil state subsidy.  It is part of sg national infrastructural asset.  If it fails, the ramifications will be not only far-reaching but probably unprecedented n (dare I add) unimaginable too.

I saw that there is a Net increase in cash and cash equivalents of $46,775,000 for the qtr ending 31.3.2019 - this is 24.5% more than the previous year' s (2018) qtr.  This net increase in after paying out the dividends for the whole of FY2019. So the company is beginning to earn cash,...not needing to rely solely  on the depreciation treatment anymore,...

If Netlink can continue to generate more and more net cash from their Operating Activities to offset the outflows in the Investing and Financing Activities, then this counter will be very safe,...

Agree. Many still have not learn from Hyflux and APTT and chasing dividend.
I lost money in 2 Shipping Trust 10 years ago. Cut loss after I fully understand how they operate - dividend given from your own money. If I had hold, I would have lost my pants. History keep repeating, " Invest for Dividend" or " Passive Income" , retail still never learn. Of course, fanned by media with big headlines of dividend increase, just like 10 years ago.
And I doubt their assets can last 25 years as claimed. Technology disruption will force them to become obsolete soon and need to make a massive capex again. So either borrow more $ or ask shareholders to pay for it. Hold your breath....

Previously I mentioned that NBL is like Shipping Trust 10 years ago, you get the dividend from the depreciation over 20 to 25 years. I took yesterday result announcement depreciation ($160,792,000) divided by the number of shares (3.9 B), I get a depreciation of $0.041 per share. Compare this with the dividend announced $0.0244, gives a - $0.016829 per share. It means investor is losing money (capital) even after getting dividend. Unless the dividend is on par with the depreciation, then we are getting back our money, which alsi does not make a case to invest at all.
Recently, institutions has been selling and retail buying blindly based on report. DYODD. Am not vested.

Take a look at the presentation slide at SGX website. The company had recently given a presentation at SGX corporate connect seminar. That could be the reason   why price start to move up slowly recently.

Yea bro. Never fail to see a Buy recommendation every week. Herd' s mentality at its best?
One thing nobody want to mention is the NAV keep dropping every year. Seems investors are paid dividends from their own money with the depreciation of the fiber assets over 25 years.
Reminds me of Shipping Trust saga some years ago. Stay safe. :)

Am not vested, don' t have a good feel about NLT recently because all analysts try to sugar coat their reports by referring to IPO forecast to mask the poor results. Only BT has the guts to reflect actual QoQ and YoY drop. Sometimes it means some BB is trying to offload big volume, so someone has to push up or hold the price and spike up volume before they can offload quietly. Maybe the pre IPO institutions who paid a small fraction of IPO price. For NLT, Capex and expenses are the items to watch, big ticket items can kill with one shot alone. So DYODD

Report was out at 5 plus yesterday evening,.... following are good digests from two media reports :-

From Shentonwire : NetLink NBN Trust reports fiscal 3Q net profit of S$19.6 million, above IPO forecasts
From The Busness Times : NetLink NBN Trust Q3 net profit down by 9.4% as costs mount

Which is more pertinent to Netlink' s future performance, moving forward ??
