Thank you so much for your explanation!

Rights issue : 2 rights for every 5 shares at $0.055+ a free detachable warrant.

Say if you hv 5000 shares of Koh Eco now. U are entitled to hv 2000 of rights + 5000 warrants.

For the rights , u can :-

1. Exercise the rights to convert it into shares, at a cost of $0.055/ share. Hence, if u want to convert all the 2000 rights  into shares, u need to pay 2000*$0.055=$110.  Your total holdings will be 7000 shares , after the right exercise.
.
2. U can sell your rights ( nil-rights ) during right trading ( watch out for the dates to be announced later). It typically has a value, and if u sell away, u can get some $ back.  Your total share holding remained as 5000 shares, after the right exercise.

3. U can choose not to do anything. In this case, your right will just expire , with u getting nothing.  Share holding remained at 5000 shares.

It is wiser to do either opt 1 or 2... unless your holding is so small that u can choose to ignore this right exercise since the $ impact is not a lot.

After the 2 for 5 rights issue, the theoretical ex-rights price should be around 81 cents (from the day the rights was announced). The market seems to be trading towards the ex-rights price.

However, between now and the rights issue could be at least another 2-3 months. I expect some contracts announcement, or results release maybe in July or August for the first half year should provide a price impetus for another major play. Stay tuned.

Now they booked all the 89. Regret did not queue at 85 and 86 earlier just now, when there was a small dump off.

Over the last few weeks, Koh Eco share price tracks Chasen very well. Today Chasen is up 2.9%. Hopefully, this one will follow and go up also.

Normally investors dont like rights issue. But this one is a relatively small issue. I am quite impressed there is no major selldown. Maybe even go higher ?

Yes thats correct. So it is really the parent Koh Bros wants to pump more equity into its subsidiary Koh Eco in order to beef up its equity base which will allow Koh Eco to take on larger projects.

Thanks, lifeisgood !

So the total rights is 299M , valued $16.5M $0.055/share.  Since Koh Bro owns 65%, they will hv to come out with $10.8M to  subscribeto the rights. That means, the amount from public pool is only $5.8M. Am I right ?

Yes, in the following paragraph:

The Company also proposes to issue one (1) Warrant for every Rights Share validly subscribed for no consideration receivable by the Company and exercisable at the Exercise Price during the exercise period, which shall be from and including the date of issue of the Warrants and expiring at 5.00 p.m. on the date immediately preceding the 3 rd (third) anniversary of the date of issue of the Warrants

Agreed.  Since the raising cash is meant for working capital , it represents more profit oppt.  BTW, glanced thr the announcement.. can' t find the warranty expiry date. Can u ?

I think it is better than raising money through debt, as the interest cost will eat into the profitability of the projects. Once the company built up sufficient equity through shareholder paid up capital (like rights issue) and retained profits, the company can venture into more projects. Should be very good for the future, and since the rights price is at the same price as the parent koh brothers original entry price, it is not bad at all.
