Sembcorp on a strong run - long bullish candlestick with good volume, but it may succumb to  some profit taking at end of trading session.
Potentially on its way to test the next area of resistance at 0.5 and 0.618 fibo level ?

 

In addition to DACH investors, European institutional investors have taken some interest in SCI. Good luck again.

 

Sembcorp unit&rsquo s 90MW data centre campus in Ho Chi Minh City gets green light

Proposed Tier III facility aims to meet rising demand for cloud services, AI computing in Vietnam

[SINGAPORE] Sembcorp Industries : U96 +1.72% subsidiary Sembcorp Development, through its joint venture with BB Holdings, has received investment approval for a data centre campus in Ho Chi Minh City, said the energy and urban player on Friday (Mar 27).

The proposed hyperscale and artificial intelligence (AI)-ready data centre campus will span about 4.5 hectares and will be built in phases. The Tier III facility will support up to 90 megawatts of computing capacity, added Sembcorp, and it also hopes to achieve the highest Tier IV classification.

The tiers represent a grading system for reliability, with Tier III facilities able to conduct maintenance without any downtime, while Tier IV facilities are able to stay online even if equipment unexpectedly fails.

The campus aims to meet the rising demand for cloud services, AI computing and advanced workloads in Vietnam.

Lee Ark Boon, chief executive officer of Sembcorp Development, noted: &ldquo Vietnam&rsquo s digital economy is accelerating at an unprecedented pace, fuelled by cloud adoption and advancement in AI.&rdquo

The joint venture, StarMason Joint Stock Company, will now continue the evaluation and development planning of the data centre campus in Saigon Hi‑ Tech Park, said Sembcorp.

BB Holdings has more than 30 years of experience in large‑ scale integrated urban projects across Vietnam.

With this first proposed data centre project in Vietnam, StarMason aims to &ldquo build on this momentum by exploring further opportunities to expand its data centre campus development pipeline in the country&rdquo , added Sembcorp.

 

To be right over days or to be right over years? Which is more important?

 

Edged up slightly to 66.9M short positions week on week. There has been no sign of shortlists winding down their positions for several weeks since the full year 2025 result was last out. Good news that SCI keep promise of delivering 60%-70% dividend payout for next FY 2026, much up from 44%. Factoring in Alinta Energy's net profit Fy2025 of A$530M (S$480) and allowing for approx $190M interest expenses for FY2026 (4% interest x S$4.8b) netting about $290M profit, this dividend payout will work out to be 44 cent to 51 cents per share given 60%-70% dividend policy, much up from current FY 2025 dividend of 25 cent per share. This translate to 6.9%-7.9% dividend yield given now closing price of 6.50, ignoring the growth rate of Alinta Energy for FY2026. This is much better than REITs with 90% dividend policy. Very important catalysts coming is the completion of Alinta Energy acquisition and IPO listing of SCI's indian assets a a whole that will definitely lead to more hot and strong buy of DACH investors as well as other institutional investors toward $8-$9. Keep invested! Try not to make early and quick gain from investing.

Therefore, surged to 61.3M short shares from 50.8M week on week. The rise in general electricity and gas price is likely persistent for many months given a long war and closure of the Strait of Hormuz as ordered by new Supreme leader. Don't forget that more rise in general gas and electricty price, more benefit to SCI. Another example is international Wilmar stock price having soared much since 28 Feb benefiting from oil price surge
