Short  seller bought back 13.5 million shares leading to the week ending 28 Feb.  Still a long way to short covering and today trading it seem the pace is picking up.  HUAT AH!
If people stop short term profit taking, the price would have been $7 by now.

Price gap of 30 Jul 2024 likely to close first, so can expect it to go up above 6.86 soon.  My rough estimation is short covering bought back about 28 million shares this week so open short position is estimated at 104 million now.  Short covering has be cleverly executed without price being escalated too fast.  As price goes up short covering is likely to escalate but as price is extended overbought region buying from investor become more  cautious.  We can' t expect people to stop profit taking so likely price would be going up more slowly.

Up 5 for the fifth day after the result.  You can see that intraday profit taking and correction happened but price still closed up.  See below.  The open short leading to the week ending  20250221 is  132,595,411 shares.    I roughly estimate that last 4 days short covering bought back 23 million shares,  so there is still around 109 million shares yet to cover. Let say easily need to short cover another 40 million shares.    I think still a long way to go up and up and up.

$SIA (C6L.SG)$ Will SIA be only few benefactor from tariff ?
As you know alot of countries have trade surplus with US which Donald Trump is addressing this imbalance, Singapore is only few Asian countries to import more goods from than export goods to US. given Trump reciprocal tariff announcement, its less likely for us to be punished.
Mutinational corporations may reroute trade flows to mitigate the impact of the tariffs, potentially using Singapore as a re-export hub or a more cost-effective alternative.
JPMorgan raises Singapore Airlines stock to overweight
On Monday, JPMorgan analyst Karen Li has upgraded  Singapore Airlines Ltd  . (SIA:SP) (OTC: OTC:SINGY) stock rating from Neutral to Overweight, raising the price target to SGD8.00 from SGD7.00. The adjustment follows the airline' s impressive performance in the third quarter of the fiscal year 2024/2025, which surpassed market expectations. The company, currently valued at $14.8 billion, trades at a P/E ratio of 11.9x and offers a dividend yield of 2.45%. According to  InvestingPro  analysis, the stock appears slightly undervalued based on its Fair Value estimates.
Singapore Airlines reported robust earnings, buoyed by higher-than-anticipated yields that helped to balance ongoing cost pressures. In a briefing held on Tuesday, February 21, the company presented positive results, including record revenue of $15.05 billion and strong passenger and cargo yields, which have now exceeded pre-pandemic levels. The airline' s effective cost management strategies, particularly in reducing net fuel costs, contributed to its strong financial standing, earning a " GREAT" Financial Health Score of 3.25 on  InvestingPro, which offers 8 additional exclusive insights about the company' s performance.
The positive outlook for demand in both passenger and cargo services is anticipated to support Singapore Airlines' potential for continued growth and enhanced competitiveness in the market. In light of these developments, JPMorgan has revised its earnings estimates for the fiscal year 2024/2025 upwards by approximately 25%, expecting other analysts to do the same.
The new forecasts are roughly 20% higher than the current Bloomberg consensus for the same period. Despite Singapore Airlines trading at what is considered a fair valuation on a price-to-book (P/B) basis, currently at 1.2x for the fiscal year 2024/2025 estimates, its price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio and enterprise value to earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EV/EBITDA) indicate that the stock is attractively priced. The P/E ratio stands at 7.3x, and the EV/EBITDA is at 5.5x, according to JPMorgan' s analysis.

Disappointment with no special dividend may push price dow
The truth is many short sellers are in profitable if they buy back for short covering, so we can expect them to buy.  They are cleverly doing without causing price to escalate too early and too quickly but it is only for so long.

Having said that the main short sellers in this market are all very clever.    They deploy all sort of deceptive tactic to induce fear and selling to allow them to buy back profitably.
