I am vested in Aspial Lifestyle. Reasons:
1. it has excellent dividend yield of 6.1%
2. it has an impressive set of revenue of S$587 mil
3. it has good valuation w a lower p/e of 6.9 X
4. expect a good set of results if 2nd half 2024 result is any guide
5. high gold price good for this sector
6. gains from old stocks of gold
7. of the 3 companies, ValueMax, MoneyMax n Aspial Lifestyle, clearly Aspial Lifestyle is the laggard
Above are just some of my thoughts n observations. I may be wrong. Pls dyodd.

Real estate debt investment platform BigFundr has announced in an Aug 27 press release
that the platform&rsquo s total loans under management (LUM) now stands at $160 million.
BigFundr&rsquo s total LUM has roughly doubled every six months for the past year. According
to the platform, its total LUM grew from $44.6 million as of July 2023 to $77.5 million as of
January, before growing to $160 million as of this month. The platform says it is on track
to cross $500 million in total LUM by 2026.
BigFundr&rsquo s growth in total LUM was underpinned by its growth in customers. The number
of investors on the platform surged from 1,100 as of end-2022 to 5,200 as of mid-2024.
Launched in October 2021, BigFundr is the first fintech platform licensed by the Monetary
Authority of Singapore (MAS) in Singapore to provide retail investors access to real estate
debt investment opportunities starting from $1,000. As opposed to outright property
acquisition, BigFundr crowdsources a line of credit to real estate developers and earns
interest on the principal amount over a fixed period.
Since the platform&rsquo s launch in 2021, it has funded over $275 million in development loans
and claims a 0% default rate.
&ldquo Our remarkable growth over the past three years is a testament to the strong partnership
between Maxi-Cash and BigFundr. We share common values in our desire to be the go-to
investment platform for retail customers,&rdquo says Quah Kay Beng, CEO of BigFundr.
Maxi-Cash Capital Management (MCCM) currently owns a 70% stake in BigFundr and
offers safeguards for both principal and interest in the platform&rsquo s real estate debt investments.
MCCM is a wholly owned subsidiary of investment holding company Aspial Lifestyle,
which is a unit of Aspial Corp.
In February, MCCM upped its shareholding in BigFundr from an initial 15% to the current 70% stake.
&ldquo What started as a model to democratise real estate debt investment to the retail market
has now proven to be a viable and practical investment opportunity that&rsquo s highly accessible
and scalable,&rdquo says Meelan Gurung, senior director of corporate finance and investments
at Aspial Corp. &ldquo With Aspial&rsquo s strategic support, we look forward to growing BigFundr
both in size and scope.&rdquo

The big question is why Mr Market never take this counter seriously?  If so under-valued, is there something which Mr Market knows and we didn' t know?
RHB: MoneyMax strong proxy to gold price uptrend
In the same light, Aspial Lifestyle is likely to benefit from higher gold price.
Above is just my view. Pls dyodd!

I think Aspial should be able to improve its margin n thereby it' s profit
as expenses for acquisition n consolidation are already are accounted for.
Company likely to report an interesting set of results in Aug.

Just received dividends of $7,637 for 2,020,000 shares.
Look forward to another declaration of dividends in Aug.
Last year same period, the dividends declared was 0.4 cts.

I think it may be quite different for pawnbroking vs traditional gold jewellers such as Chow Tai Fook, Laopu, Chow Sang Sang and Luk Fook which are all listed in HK as they are also responsible for the sourcing, handcrafting so across the supply chain.

Thank you for your inputs.
I am not familiar w hedging n its implications, therefore
i am not able to comment. However when i was reading
a report by Value Max, it seems that higher gold price
is good for them, especially the pawnbroking sector.
Anyway, i may have interprete wrongly.

The key point for the gold jewellers is to understand their hedging exposure, if any, to gold prices. This has seen some of the HK peers for e.g having to take substantial hits on hedging losses despite the record high gold prices. Players such as Laopu who don' t hedge then enjoy the full upswing and pass through to customers.

I guess the high borrowing is a characteristic of the business.
All 3 companies have debt of $600 plus millions. It reminds me of Centurion,
which has a debt of S$623 million though the revenue is only S$253 millions.

Thanks for sharing, the gearing is pretty scary though despite the cheap valuations.
