Leader Environmental Tech gains 17% on heavy trading
SHARES of Leader Environmental Technologies : LS9 +16.13% leapt on heavy trading volumes on Tuesday (Feb 7) morning, with more than 3 million shares changing hands in early trade, significantly above its usual average volume of 243,122.
No married deals were recorded in early trade, according to ShareInvestor data.
The technology provider&rsquo s share price activity comes shortly after it announced on Tuesday morning that the circular for its US$15 million, zero-coupon convertible bonds had been cleared by the Singapore Exchange.
Notice of the extraordinary general meeting, which will be held to seek shareholder approval for the issuance and allotment of the bonds and conversion shares, is expected to be dispatched around Feb 14.
The bond investment, previously announced on Oct 11, 2022, has a three-year tenure with an option for Leader Environmental Tech to extend the maturity date by a further two years or less.
It received in-principle approval from the SGX in December 2022.
Proceeds will be used by Leader Environmental to secure more sludge treatment projects as well as artificial intelligence (AI) water management projects. Part of the net proceeds will also be utilised to install AI water management projects when they are secured.
