Since SGX is not doing anything about it. It is better to delist from SGX.

Many counter has been facing a short-selling environment every day since February. Why? Especially in Thai Bev,Genting,Wee Hur etc. What happen to SGX?
Probably be one of those motherhood statements where we will assess market conditions and look for best opportunity that will maximise shareholder value, etc. DBS was the most bullish broker with the spin-off as one of the catalyst for re-rating but recently cut TP to 63c from 77c.
In the report, it was cited -
Value-unlocking corporate actions likely delayed. ThaiBev holds high- quality assets in its beer and food & beverage businesses, which we believe would command higher valuations as standalone entities. We believe management remains committed to value-unlocking corporate actions, but we now expect any major developments to be pushed to FY26/FY27 due to a less supportive macroeconomic backdrop.

no need to ask as you can see the business is not doing well. So IPO will not attract big fish to invest. Will be delayed and call off.

Any chance business to recover? Seems gwtting worsr 😐
ThaiBev Q2 profit down 3.2% at 6.7 billion baht declares dividend of 0.15 baht per share
Group notes that the Thai economy has &lsquo showed signs of steady recovery&rsquo unlikely to be affected by US tariffs

[SINGAPORE] Chang beer maker Thai Beverage : Y92 +0.98% (ThaiBev) on Friday (May 9) announced that its profit for the second quarter ended Mar 31, 2025, decreased 3.2 per cent on year to 6.7 billion baht (S$263.5 million), from a restated profit of seven billion baht in the corresponding year-ago period.

The group&rsquo s financials for Q2 and H1 FY2024 have been restated for comparative purposes, due to the consolidation of beverage maker Fraser & Neave : F99 +0.81% (F& N) in September 2024, said ThaiBev in a bourse filing.

This is accounted for as a business combination under common control by the same ultimate controlling shareholder, said the group.

This decrease is due to a fall in sales for beer, food, non-alcoholic beverages and other businesses, but partially offset by an increase in sales from spirits.

The group has declared a dividend of 0.15 baht per share, unchanged from the corresponding year-ago period, which will be payable on Jun 6.

On a half-yearly basis, profit came in at 14.7 billion baht, retreating 3.2 per cent from a restated 15.2 billion baht. Revenue for the six months was 177.6 billion baht, adding 1 per cent from 175.9 billion baht in H1 FY2024 restated.

Revenue growth for the half was driven by the beer and non-alcoholic beverages businesses, said ThaiBev.

The group noted that the Thai economy has &ldquo showed signs of steady recovery&rdquo over October 2024 to March this year, fuelled by tourism, services and positive merchandise exports trend.

Although private consumption saw improvement, the group said the Thai economy &ldquo remains vulnerable to several risks&rdquo , including persistent inflationary pressures and uncertainty surrounding the economic policies of major trading partners.

While the recovery in economic activity has improved domestic beverage consumption, the beverage industry &ldquo continues to face intensifying competitive pressures, particularly in Vietnam&rdquo , said the group, citing regulations that continue to limit domestic alcohol consumption in that market.

In an earnings call on Friday evening, Lester Tan, general director of ThaiBev&rsquo s Vietnam-based beer company Sabeco, said that consumer confidence in Vietnam has come down &ldquo to one of the lowest rates since Covid-19&rdquo . However, companies such as Sabeco &ldquo tend to do well&rdquo when the market takes a downturn as people down trade.

&ldquo We are primarily a mainstream brand company and the bulk of our volumes are there,&rdquo he added. &ldquo So with the downturn, I believe there is a silver lining for Sabeco moving forward. But the entire beer market in Vietnam... will be challenging.&rdquo

Meanwhile, the group noted that it is unlikely to be affected by the United States tariffs, as it only sources hops &ndash an ingredient used to make beer &ndash from the US, which the group has ordered in bulk and stored in freezers.

&ldquo About machinery and spare parts... we don&rsquo t rely on (the US) at all. So I don&rsquo t think we will be harmed by this trade war,&rdquo said Dr Pisanu Vichiensanth, vice-chair of the group&rsquo s executive committee.

ThaiBev&rsquo s subsidiary F& N also reported earnings on Friday. Its profit for the first half ticked up 0.3 per cent to S$84.1 million, from S$83.8 million a year ago.
