Years and years ppl have been talking how good dividend is this stock how undervalue it is. After so many this stock remains a crap. My ums 1 year capital gain alresdy 60% exclude dividend. If back then i insist to hold on this, really waste so much opportunity cost

I had had a jolly good time trading Valuatronics. I recalled few years back, I was jumping for joy when I saw the price shot up so much the day after the profit announcement/annual meeting. However, Valuetronics of late  seem to lost its mojo and is not venturing into high margin products. Latest profit statement was also not exciting.

I sold my last 50lots today. Its strategy of shifting operation to Vietnam will reap benefits over time. Will revisit Valuatronics again if there are catalysts along the way.

There are no certainties in stockmarket. Got this gem at about $0.35 during IPO. Bought more from $0.30 to $0.70 when nobody wanted. Then it suddenly shot past $1 when analysts started to woke up. Sold some, then fell back. Bought back some now waiting for it to rise again. To me, this is a fundamentally sound and well managed company with good dividends. It had already begun changing strategies to harness the trade war. So be patient

Yes aem fall from high but long run is growing. 3 years ago aem was 70c now is over 3.50 3 years ago valuetronic is 70c now is 61c. Collect dividend 20 years also no use There are so much good tech firm to invest when market ia bad. Valuetronic certainly not my pic

Valuatronics was once my favourite shares. I collected quite alot of dividends and made decent profits 3 years ago. Bought back some few months ago, but off-loaded 2/3 of it b4 the profit announcement as I was afraid the profit falls below expectation. Looking at the results, it seem impacted by poor trade relation between China/USA. The move to shift their operation from China to Vietnam is a good strategy but improvement to the business would probably be felt few quarters later.

Which one? AEM is also dropping la, from high of 4.64

It is always cyclical - never know which one. But both making profits, unlike airliners.

Have noticed the same , Asians tend to be over cautious thats true. Under promise but still deliver.
Outlook can change for the better when policies are fine tuned by competent leaders in the country.

Chairman has the habit of overcautious in his statement. You look back to his outlook for FY 20 he cautioned expect significant loss in history due to US-China trade war.Yet nothing near to it.

RongLong      ( Date: 29-May-2021 23:52) Posted:

Need to take note of outlook given:
Expect FY2022 financial results to be significantly lower compared to FY2021.

This might be the reason why the price cannot move up much

Valuetronics reports 4.6% increase in net profit to $31.9m for FY2021
Electronics manufacturing services provider Valuetronics has reported a net profit of HK$187.1 million (S$31.9 million) for the financial year ended March 31, 2021.

This is a 4.6 per cent increase compared with its previous financial year.

Overall revenue fell 3.1 per cent to HK$2.28 billion, but gross profit rose 6.5 per cent to HK$386.2 million in FY2021.

Revenue in its industrial and commercial electronics segment grew 11.3 per cent to HK$1.4 billion, due to a surge in demand for logistics and e-commerce during the Covid-19 lockdowns.

Its revenue from consumer electronics, however, fell 25.7 per cent to HKS$680.7 million, as social distancing and Covid-19 containment measures led to a key customer experiencing weak demand.

The group' s other income decreased by 25.4 per cent to HK$18.4 million, mainly due to the decrease in interest income, which was offset by an increase in net exchange gains.

The company is recommending a final dividend of 16 HK cents per share, based on its results.

It noted that it paid an interim dividend of five HK cents in December 2020.

In all, this amounts to 21 HK cents per share, although the payout for FY2020 was 20 HK cents per share.

The aggregate dividend amount is about 48.9 per cent of the net profit attributable to shareholders for FY2021 and is in line with the company' s formal dividend policy of paying out 30 per cent to 50 per cent of net profit as normal dividends to shareholders, Valuetronics said.

" Despite the uncertainties presented during the pandemic, the group reported relatively stable revenue and profits for FY2021 as compared with FY2020, largely due to an unexpected rebound in customer demand in the second half of FY2021," the company said in a statement.

However, Valuetronics chairman and managing director Ricky Tse Chong Hing is expecting the group' s financial results for FY2022 to be " significantly lower" compared with FY2021, with the loss of orders from customers switching their supply chain to other countries due to United States-China trade tension.

This is further compounded by uncertainties from a global shortage in components as well as the still-evolving Covid-19 pandemic, he added.

On the other hand, the company' s Vietnam expansion is on schedule, with its new campus expected to begin production by the end of FY2022, said Mr Tse.

" By then, we will be fully equipped to serve customers' multi-site production strategy as a means to mitigate Sino-US trade tensions, and we will be seeking out new opportunities emerging with our extended geographic footprint," he said.
