Its a good dream... but as we speak more advance lihium batteries are being developed.... lets come back 10 years later and compare the specs again... if they ever made it into commericial

Waste 10-15mins of my time charging? And if u visit every week once... thats almost 40mins to 60mins a month wasted for nothing...that would be 12 hours a year... If i can buy back 12 hours a year for my time.... and yet its cheaper to buy (hydrogen car is more expensive) and hydrogen maybe cheap now but who knows in the future they say hydrogen is lesser and price went up.... remember oil is dirt cheap back then... i must be crazy or really stupid not to use lithium powered EV... Like Elon musk say you can write research paper that say u can built a teleportation or u have the world best battery solution just sent it to him ... he will have a whole team of experts there reviewing your greatest invention....

 

EV is here to stay but like a touchlight it can uses either nickel?metal hydride or lithium battery. EV's powertrain architecture will remain the same but with technology breakthrough, battery type can change, fast & furious, within same car. DYODD

Good opinion here,... tq. A few of the fund mgrs in AU said the same thing too,... basically, Li is still a commodity. When supply catches-up with demand, the price will drop, they say,... a normal behaviour of commodities. I always compare Li to oil, because of the motor vehicle. Oil powered motor vehicles till today. If batteries take over the running of the electric motor vehicle, the Li replaces oil before a newer battery tech comes about. OIl price seems to go up continuously 10 years ago, till 2015,... would Li behave in the same way ?

In any case, any one speculating on Alliance should be aware that the demand/supply dynamics have changed. It really depends at this stage if alliance is able to start production smoothly and ramp up as much as possible before the Chilean miners also ramp up their production and cause the lithium price to dip.  China has put in policy to convert to EV in the future, but how fast their local companies can ramp up EV production such that the demand will exceed increase supply from Chile and other major producers is another question. As typical with all mining cycles, there is always a boom period in prices encouraging big investments into mining that particular resource, this usually results in oversupply combined with cooling in market demand for that particular commodity. A good example would be the recent iron ore boom few years back. Price went from $180+/t down to $60-$70 range.
