Based on FY 2021 record, the dividend paid out is around 42% of FY net profit.
Most likely it will make SGD 410M FY 2022. If based on SGD 410M x 42% and minus out the dividend going to pay out for 1st half 2022, the second half dividend should be SGD 0.25. Based on current share price, it still give a decent dividend yield.

supply chain disruption take some time to resolve. whatever demand destruction cos offset somewhat. if 2nd half not severely dented, can expect bountiful dividends from its cash hoarding, hedging inflation. holding up see can touch 1.50. macham like reits. notwithstanding its expanding tanker fleet

Samudera Shipping reports 1HFY2022 earnings of US$171.7 million

Samudera Shipping has reported earnings of US$171.7 million for 1HFY2022 ended June, up 367.7% y-o-y.

Revenue in the same period was up 127.8% y-o-y to US$476.2 million, thanks to both higher container volume handled and higher rates.

Specifically, container volume was up 27.1% y-o-y to 957,000 TEUs.
The company plans to pay an interim dividend of 7 cents per share, versus just 0.5 cents this time last year.

However, the company warns of the potential softening of container trade growth because of global uncertainties that have led to higher inflation and interest rates.

Revenue for the period jumped 127.8 per cent to US$476.2 million from US$209.1 million, which was driven by increases across all business segments. The container shipping segment drove the bulk of the increases, surging 131.4 per cent to US$464.9 million in 1H 2022 from US$200.9 million a year earlier.

The bulk and tanker segment posted a 31 per cent increase to US$4.1 million in 1H 2022 from US$3.1 million in 1H 2021, due to increase in employment days of the 2 existing tankers and the acquisition of a third vessel. The 1H 2022 agencies and logistics segment recorded a 65.3 per cent increase to US$8.8 million from US$5.4 million on higher agency activities and the acquisition of controlling stake in a third-party logistics company in Indonesia.

Freight rates are expected to remain higher than pre-pandemic levels as container vessel supply continues to lag demand. Samudera Shipping has secured long-term charters for 4 of the 6 newly-built vessels, and is growing its presence in the tanker market with a delivery of another tanker in 4Q 2022. The company expects charter-hire rates and bunker cost to remain high.

The feeling is terrible when some sold down to $0.97 yesterday. Quckly mopped up to past $1.00 yesterday. Now regretting. Many with strong holding power are reaping the rewards.
They r buying for future 1.55$
Hence it?s not expensive at all
Those sold below $1 yest I wonder how they feeling now

Bear market rally seems stronger and longer than expected, and with such spectacular results, high chance that Samudera will scale new heights. DYODD.

If only have bought at $1.02 yesterday, would have enjoyed a an interim div yield of nearly 7%. May announce full-year div., like the $0.135 total dividend last FY.
Powerful, start at 1.12.
