Tencent and GIC increasing stake in Weimob

COMPLETION OF VENDOR PLACING AND INCREASE IN SHAREHOLDING BY CERTAIN SHAREHOLDERS
References are made to the announcements of the Company dated 25 July 2019 and 26 July 2019 (the &ldquo Announcements&rdquo ) in relation to, among other things, the Vendor Placing, the Subscription and the Sale. Unless otherwise defined herein, capitalized terms used in this announcement shall have the same meanings as those defined in the Announcements.
The Company is pleased to announce that completion of the Vendor Placing took place on 30 July 2019. A total of 255,000,000 Shares held by the Top-up Vendors have been successfully placed at the Vendor Placing Price of HK$4.60 per Share to not less than six professional, institutional and/ or individual investors who (to the best of the knowledge, information and belief of the Directors, having made all reasonable enquiries), together with their respective ultimate beneficial owners, are third parties independent of and not connected with the Company or its connected persons. None of the placees and their ultimate beneficial owners will become a substantial shareholder (as defined under the Listing Rules) of the Company as a result of the Vendor Placing and Subscription.

The Company was informed by the Shareholders of the Company, Tencent Holdings Limited (&ldquo Tencent&rdquo ) and GIC Private Limited (&ldquo GIC&rdquo ), respectively, that on 30 July 2019, a subsidiary of Tencent and a subsidiary of GIC have acquired 25,400,000 Shares and 72,000,000 Shares, respectively, through the Vendor Placing (the &ldquo Increase in Shareholding&rdquo ). Immediately before the Increase in Shareholding, Tencent, through its subsidiaries, held in aggregate 155,485,000 Shares, representing approximately 7.73% of the total issued share capital of the Company as at the date of this announcement. GIC, through its subsidiary, held 142,470,000 Shares, representing approximately 7.08% of the total issued share capital of the Company as at the date of this announcement.
Immediately following the Increase in Shareholding, Tencent, through its subsidiaries, holds in aggregate 180,885,000 Shares, representing approximately 8.99% of the total issued share capital of the Company as at the date of this announcement and approximately 7.98% of the issued share capital of the Company as enlarged by the Subscription. GIC, through its subsidiaries, holds 214,470,000 Shares, representing approximately 10.66% of the total issued share capital of the Company as at the date of this announcement and approximately 9.46% of the issued share capital of the Company as enlarged by the Subscription.
The Board considers that the Increase in Shareholding by Tencent and GIC in the Company demonstrates their confidence in the prospects of the Company.
Further announcement in relation to the completion of the Subscription will be made by the Company as and when necessary.

To be fair, this kongsi publish only half yearly result....no visibility on upcoming one...
but looking at recent deal w Samsonite, Singpost, WeChat, Msia Goverment & Amer Sports
Outlook is quite +ve...imo

For this counter, usually after a huge gap up, it only move forward. Think more upside later after Bb has eaten enough unless HSI and STi drops further later afternoon.
