Co made the buyback statement when its share was trading above 30 cents.

Before the buyback statement, Co did a buyback at 30 cents.

Now share price is 24 cents.. if Managment believe as it did at the time of the anouncemnt and last buyback, the share price is worth above 30 cents, at 24 cents - it makes absolute sense to buy back, unless the statement is hollow as it seems.

This is irrespective of the susidiary IPO whose date is uncertain due to the current poor global market conditions, etc.  It may have its reason to delay although its IPO filing was made in last quarter of 2021..

Think once the India IPO is announced & price still at this level, then this lady Gar Gar will start to buy back. Management doesn't think there is much use in buying now, perhaps.

We should all write to the company in regards to this slotted US$100 for share buy back to reward investors . Yes, creditability of their word is even more important then Sustainability.

FrancisLim      ( Date: 30-Jun-2022 12:13) Posted:

Today, the Co issued a 74 page report on Sustainability with color pictures etc.

What happened to its statement in its Annual Report issued on 8th April 2022:

" To further reward our shareholders, GAR will also initiate a share buyback programme with an allocated amount of up to US$100 million for the year 2022"

Its share price has collapsed from its high of 34cent to its current 24.5 cents... where are the so called share buy back to reward the shareholders.

Talk is cheap, and printing colorful report is also cheap....walk the talk is what makes the difference.

JAKARTA, July 2 (Reuters) - Indonesia raised palm oil export quotas on Saturday, allowing companies that have sold palm oil domestically to export seven times the amount of their domestic sales starting July 1, a senior minister said.

Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Pandjaitan also said the government will exercise a plan to raise mandatory biodiesel mix to 35% or 40%, depending on crude palm oil supply and price, from currently 30%. (Reporting by Bernadette Christina Editing by Sandra Maler)

Some management talk, chirp, chirp, cheap, cheap...

But to include the pronouncement of sharebuy back in its official published Annual Report is a different matter...

Credibility, the C here is very important...especially governance is more in the spotlight in the palm oil industry...labor manageent, sustainability, environment etc.

Next time, the investors and other stakeholders will treat managment pronouncements as chirp chirp or the crows cackling..

Regional palm oil stocks book solid Q1, but cost pressures, CPO price correction loom

Be careful of Golden Agri. A poorly managed business which fortunes are simply tied to oil palm prices.

palm oil price drop more likely as a results of oil price drop. they are link via b30.
speculators are moving out as now the talk also about recession causing reduction in demand.
quite an excuse. can eat lesser for recession meh?
any way the drop is very healthy. nothing goes up in a straight line.

many con artists in SGX.....
many companies had declared that there will be sbb to support or
raise the share price.
YZJFH before its listing declared that co will buy back shares is share drops below NAV 1.08
upon listing......many were totally caught unaware that there was no share mandate for sbb
,until now.... n even at 44 cents mngt sitting quietly to let the share price drop further south
no aggresive bb to support.
ALL TALK NO ACTION, NO INTEGRITY
JUST LETTING GO GAS......
GAR DROPPED FROM 34 CENTS HIGH  this year...almost 30%
oil palm record high price this year

Credibility is very important...

So when the Co announced that it set aside US$100 million for share buyback in its Annual Report, and subsequently did not carry out buyback in the face of falling share price..

No wonder, share price keeps weakening because the words are empty..without actions
