Don't be surprised a while later they list it at Jakarta Exchange. Stock market is a gold mine for them.

Its as good as a foregone conclusion, the salim group controls around 75% of the issued share capital, the low ball offer of 28cts is an insult to its NAV.
What can the retailers do? LL and accept the offer or sell it at the mkt at around 28/285 levels.
Its a miscarriage of justice that when they ipo at such high price and now take it private at a fraction of its ipo and nav.

I don' t think it' s a foregone conclusion yet. I myself will be voting against the GO. While they own ~75%, a simple 10% (of votes present during voting) veto would be able to block the deal. I' m happy for the share price to go back to $0.20 if the GO fails, since I think the business is worth more if CPO prices revert. If the GO goes ahead, I' ll just tender my shares for $0.28 then for a decent return.
Case in point isChallenger, its minority shareholders seem to have some guts, and they (allegedly) have gotten 8.6% to veto the deal thus far. The Loo family and concert parties have 80% of the business, and yet minorities still stand a decent chance.

Is an insult on sinkies intelligence itself.  Maybe go hong lim protest just to let authorities know how sinkie are being taken for a ride also shiok.

To be fair, when it IPO-ed in 2007, it was doing ~20% ROE, now it' s unprofitable. Operating profits also shrunk by 3x over the last 12 years. So it' s a much weaker business than it was in 2007. Nonetheless, I still think that the Salim family is being opportunistic here, buying over a business on the cheap while betting on turnaround in CPO prices.

I wonder who are queuing at 0.28 to buy. Volumn so high. Shortists or people who want the 0.0025 dividends?

I think they' ve softened their tone a bit.  Indonesia say we' ve planes to buy, but having second thoughts abt airbus.  Malaysia has threatened not to buy european fighter planes.  This is the real world.  It' s what sustainable politics, not palm oil, is all abt.

Haha, if only IPOs are offered at 50-60% discount to NAV.  This one seems that IPO was 2.80.  Now take back at 10%.  Good business sense to make suckers out of sinkies.
This is the reason why many are rushing to privatise now because they know once the rules are revised, they will have a problem taking their " toys" private on the cheap. Hence just keep an eye on all these companies you mentioned because the window is clsoing in.

This has always been the problem with SGX stocks majority owned by billionaire individuals/families.
Just look at all the stocks with Indon/SG/Thai/Msia billionaire individuals/families as CS.  There' s a long list of them.
These stocks constantly trade at pathetic valuations and hardly move even though many tout them as " Hidden Gems" , " Unpolished Gems" etc. Dividends are also pathetic. And there are frequent deals/transactions made among companies within their group of companies.
Clearly, these stocks constantly reap benefits (which we don' t know what are the benefits behind the scenes) for the CSs, but retails always get the short end of the stick.

Agree, so we can just avoid such kinds of business. There' s 600-700 stocks in SGX, and tens of thousands worldwide. Even if we were to exclude such kinds of stocks, pretty sure there' s still many left for us to choose.
