With one Lot, you are entitled to 5000 rights trading at 0.001 now. You are not entitled to get any free SCM rights share
but have to subscribe by paying $1k for the 5000 rights shares ie 20cts per rights share.

Newbie here. Lets say i have just one lot i.e. 1000 shares. I should be entitled 5000 rights shares at 20 cts per share. Wat if i dont wish to purchase the rights? Will i lose out with just existing 1000 shares?

Well.. with the enlarged shares base, your 1000 shares will be diluted if u dont pay to buy your entitlement

Long term is a crap term. Those who buy sph for long term, what is their fate now? Do proper analysis. Can use porter 5 forces. No company will be profitable forever. Most companies when down seldom recover, especially SGX listed companies.
Think that' s a good price to get in, for long term. Some prefer to buy direct from ms to simplify things, instead of having to spend time to atm which sometimes don work, or buy cashiers ord, fill forms, go to deposit, etc.
Also intend to get some for long term, but likely from rights which cost almost nil. TP is to 25c in 1yr, and 30c in 2yrs, or 25% annual yld. With TH as main stakeholder and godfather, think it' s future is quite assured lah. A quick check shows it' s price was ard $1 - $1.10, slightly over a yr ago. Covid-19 and share dilution becos of rights has brought the price way too undervalue, imo.
Currently price seems suppressed, during this rights and distribution period, by BBs for their own game play, which they will likely reverse thereafter.
Anyway just opinion, for long term investors.

But the fact that it took 1 full day for the queue to reach me shows the strength of the demand in SMM! :))

I own SCI Shares, but while waiting for the entitled SMM Shares in Sept i decided to que for some on the open market.
And i found out that queuing for them is like queuing for HelloKitty at Macs D:
Buy in Sept 2020, maybe at much cheaper after the SCI shareholders unload their " free" SMM shares?

If cannot move, then LL keep and wait for merger news with Kep marine. Maybe end of the year or next year? They won't let you know the plan, if they let you know, you sure buy up the shares. Then no chance for them to pick up so cheap for future big gains. If Temasek isn't going to do anything, take up to 50% ownership for what? Extra money to spend? ... DYODD. vol @ 0.1c is reducing. good chance to collect the rights. the vol to sell @ 0.2c has increased. probably those who bought above 85c or more selling away their entitlement. painful.
anyway if the alert sound .... means tiok already

don' t undertsand why temasek will want to take the coy private with the whitewash resolution. with more than 80% they can shape the coy.
