Who is buying? The owner himself? Can save even the 0.0025 dividend which was announced only 1 month after results and not even with a book closure date till now. Maybe man still not aware there is dividend if they keep their shares.

Lol what to do.. nowadays we have many low ballers offer which owners capitalise from the weak market sentiment.. we shld always have this in mind that some companies list to suck money from us.. if they do not need us, they will kick us aside.. if the company do not have a good track record of treating shareholders well like giving high dividends, then we shld not have high hopes that offer will be high.. all the NAV figures stated will not be reliable and shld not be used as a benchmark for offer price, unless sgx have this rule stating company has to delist at least on NAV or higher

IPO was 2002, I think.  True, at that time commodity prices were much more bullish.  But even so, if u IPO at preimum, there' s no justification to take back such steep discount.  NAV is nearly 80c.  So, this is real dayligh robbery, especially when it' s only at 10% of what they sold, inflation notwithstanding.

To be fair, when it IPO-ed in 2007, it was doing ~20% ROE, now it' s unprofitable. Operating profits also shrunk by 3x over the last 12 years. So it' s a much weaker business than it was in 2007. Nonetheless, I still think that the Salim family is being opportunistic here, buying over a business on the cheap while betting on turnaround in CPO prices

What I meant is that the SSH all refused to accept the offer and the buy-out could not reach 90%....

TBH, the truth remains, salim holds 75% of this company, no ssh in their right frame of mind would have scoop up the rest of the 25% and force salim to up the ante.

Its just a futile attempt, and the salim group would think that u should be grateful to the premiums given by them over the 1,2,3 months average share prices.

As i said, its gross miscarriage of justice, and we retailers are totally powerless to effect any changes

I believed the acquisition is made now so as to avoid the new rules to be implemented. There is no point in complaining because I don' t think any rule has been bleached. The only problem lies with the rules or the process of implementation of the new rules. At the end, only the small minority shareholders are disadvantaged. It is sad for the long term investors.

We need to block them to acquire 90%, vote NO to the buy-out offer, there' s still chance!

" The offer is conditional on Indofood Sukses Makmur receiving acceptances of at least 90 percent of Indofood Agri&rsquo s outstanding shares, it said. Once the free float of the shares falls below 10 percent required minimum threshold, Indofood Sukses Makmur can compulsorily acquire the remaining shares."

In fact, US financial news networks such as Bloomberg and CNBC have been reporting that CPO downturn has ended and has started it' s turnaround.
