This share was issued by F&N to it's shareholders. More than 88% in the hands of Charoen and his investment vehicle. That is why liquidity is low.

Thanks. Agree that this counter is a gem and provides good dividend yield. However sometimes I do wonder whether this counter is still alive because there is so little trading activity each day. There are very few shares traded in public, and in my mind it makes sense to privatise it, given good rental income and the extra overhead costs it incurs for listing in SGX. Maybe FCL management has their own reasons why they want this stock to be public listed. Curios to know why though.

Dividend payout would have been priced in post-announcement and in line with last year' s dividends. Good stuff really. Made a decent profit since I bought 3 months back and will be holding this gem for a long time to come.

Fundamentally, it' s a good company. The increase is likely a correction towards its Net Asset Value of $2.30 per share. Cheers bro.

FCL Moving up! Is this purely due to the impending div payout or something else? Anyone know?

Looks like you are right - approaching 1.30 now,... because of the debts ??? Really inching down...

Debts are so high at $10B still want to buy this and that. Shortists will short it down to $1.30.

Been waiting but the drop we were waiting for never came.

I was looking at its latest earnings. Regarding debt..

1) 86% of their debt is fixed rate, up from 73% last year (FY14/15).

2) Net Debt to Equity is now 64.4%, down from 83.6% last year.

Good news considering the current market environment. Believe it has reversed from its bottom. Will enter tmr at 1.52 (or 1.51 if i get the chance to).

FRASERS Property Australia on Thursday said it would buy a 15.19 hectare site in the industrial area of Chullora, Sydney, and build up the space with an estimated final value of A$55 million (S$57.3 million).

The Chullora site comprises a six hectare parcel of land fronting Muir Road which is available for immediate development, and an investment component on the adjoining 9.19 hectare parcel that will be subject to a 20-year triple net lease to SUEZ Recycling & Recovery Pty Ltd.

" The acquisition will further boost the company' s capacity to service the growing needs of major Australian and international groups in the Sydney market. The site is expected to attract strong interest from online retail groups and organisations who need to be located closer to their customer base and Sydney' s metropolitan areas," said Ian Barter, general manager for the Northern region for Frasers Property Australia.

In a deal-making spree, liquor tycoon Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi made big moves to expand his empire' s footprint both overseas and in his home market. After concluding the purchase of the Vietnamese unit of German cash-and-carry firm Metro for $711 million, he inked a $3.3 billion deal with France' s Casino Groupe for a 59% stake in hypermarket operator Big C Supercenter Thailand. He agreed to buy a further 25% for an estimated $1.4 billion from the Chirathivat clan.  Last year, his Singapore-listed Frasers Centrepoint bought MHDV Holdings, a U.K. boutique hotel operator for $575 million. But Charoen' s biggest asset remains his controlling stake in Thai Beverage, maker of Chang beer.

DBS Research

The sale of United Engineers is in the lime light again! A rare opportunity to gain access to a quality property portfolio built on 999-year leasehold/freehold land Among major listed developers, Frasers Centrepoint and City Developments have assets that are most similar to UE&rsquo s portfolio Based on past privatizations at average of 1.0x P/NAV, acquisition of UE at NAV of S$2.75 per share implies a 10% upside to current price. If it materializes, this could lead to a re rating of developers who are trading at an average of 0.75 P/NAV.
