Come on dbs sleeping too long time, has to wake up. Include sgx 😊
So much for the prediction of a feared market crash on the week of 13 to 18 Sep... already ten days had past and we do not see any resemblence of the Dow selldown of 1,000 points or even anything close to 500 points drop!   US and the European markets are in fact very stable now.

To trade profitably, minimum is 10 lots as we need abt 9c in/out for brokerage and fees.. not sure what is heavy to you as my trading can be up to 30 lots if a very good opportunity presents. If you will to check my past postings on this thread, I had made 100% good calls so far (thank God) and had profited each time... even caught a 60c rebound a few weeks ago when I bought the day after Dow sold down the 1,000 point intra day.   I can trade this stock becos I had sold my entire CPF holdings which include Dbs a few months ago and can pick up what I buy.
Now already in the money as now Bid 17.39, Ask 17.40.
Heavily vested or just a couple of lots? Sorry for asking.

Did you load any at 17.20?   Am vested now. Should firm up from here once Dow is back to guessing mode for rate hike..

DBS held at 17.20 firmly against the sharp drop in Dow -299 points over the weekend n now Ask 17.25. Dbs should consolidate at this region and then firm up from here once the rate hike jitters dissipate in USA and then recover..

Shock me when reading and saw the PIC with 3 fingers pg A8 The ST paper 20/9/2015 ??????
DO you ????

personally I think it presents good opportunity for long-term investors not short-term traders. at the end of the day, portfolio managers will want to close the year high since their bonus depends on portfolio returns. given that we have some breather from now till end of year where we have the next Fed meeting, there seems to be room for some rally.

DBS is a good stock....but I do feel it will be down the whole of september.....just too much damage done and confidence on world economy. The only strong rally i see is probably in October...
Itw will, without a doubt.  It' s how unscrupulous manipulators exploit index stocks to torpedo the STI  to create   a semblance of mkt fear n nervousness to instill fear n anxiety into others, especially small fries like us.  They do this  in order to suck us all dry n dead.    The truth though is that  the banks here are strong n profits will increase, especially with SIBOR on the uptrend, n soon enough an uturn in share  px will take place.

But come Monday morning I think it is going to lose ground, together with the other two local banks.

Apart from anything else, I believe DBS' housing loan portfolio is the envy of many.  With interest rate on the rise (n FED  is likely not to hold back much longer), DBS' s profits for the  next few qtrs  are gonna be very good.  The same people selling now are gonna sell a different story to justify pumping the px up soon enough.  $25 is a possible 12-mth target, I' d think.
shouldnt most of the macro developments be priced in by now? eventually the interest rate hike is going to take place, it is only a matter of when and when that happens, you would want to be holding onto banks with the strongest fundamentals. DBS looks like a good pick at least among the other local banks.
near term volatility is unavoided but such is the beauty of the stock market. it depends if investors are able to see through the ' noise' - DBS has been actively doing share buy-back at prices higher than current levels. for blue chips, if looking to trade, make sure you implement a stop-loss but if looking to invest, current entry price surely looks attractive.
May go down to below 17 soon....no sight of any recovery given the global market
17.25 is a short term support and Dbs will probably rally once the Fed rate hike happens as this will be positive for them as it allow a bigger margin of profit for their loans.. You can buy around this price if you have holding power.. dyodd
So should I buy the shares at 17.30?
Yellen: Oct Rate Hike Still Possible
2015/09/18 07:50
The U.S. Federal Reserve determined to keep the interest rate unchanged. Federal Reserve Chair Janet Yellen said that it is possible for the committee to raise the rate during every meeting and October is not an exception.
One of the major reasons for the Fed to hold rate steady is due to the development abroad. Yellen explained that the market heightened concerns about growth in China and other emerging market economies which led to notable volatility in financial markets.
AAStocks Financial News
Now that FED has not moved, USD vs SGD will reverse a bit n result in easing of SIBOR.  Likely bank shares  wld be pressured.  share px of DBS, a net lender in the interbank mkt, wld  probably be affected more.

Tonight Fed Open Mkt Committee will release its policy statement along with qtrly economic projections at 2PM Washington time.
Fed Reserve Chair Janet Yellen will hold a press conference at 2.30pm.
US Markets which is holding rather flat now plus 20 points will trade according to the statement.
My take is plus 125 points Fed rate hike.. this will calm the markets as it will show that US is growing strongly and then a relief rally will follow..
