Since dbs has drop quite a fair bit.. And STI follows that same trend .. When the market move up again DBS will be one of the shares which will move up easily .. when the shares goes down, STI also "lau sai".. But in everything there is a bottom.. So wait for the eventual rebound

Your analysis is not bad.   I have also vested but not much.   Since DBS has run up the most on talk of FED increasing rate, each time FED postpone the date of increasing rate, DBS get hit.   So it is a matter of timing.   I believe it has not hit bottom yet so I am averaging down, unlike some people who says NEVER to average down.   For long term investors there is nothing to fear buying now since nobody knows when is the bottom.

Whatever moon that is to come.....one thing is certain .  DBS is still DBS.
It is well manage...very profitable in first half. Good book value of 15.60 ( if I am not wrong) and yeild of aro 3.6% PE below 10
Certainly not argueing that no company cant fail.....but for a value long term investing ...DBS is of good value at current price.
Will it be lower...who knows....> BUT how much lower will it get before swarm of bees will start scooping up this.
Dont forget it is still one of the best bank in SEAsia.
Will the haze and cloud clears....blue sky appear.....that was not too long ago where many will talking abt $22/23 for DBS?
So any investor ( not trade) will weight in the downside risk against the upside return .
Happy investing.

But with the latest jobs report as bad as it is, showing that America is also showing signs of wobbling, like the rest of the world economy, Yellen can kiss her rate hike goodbye.  If the US jobs scene continues in the same trend,in the next two mths, USD will weaken, SGD will strengthen, SIBOR will cave in n the three local banks' hopes of improving NIM will no longer be a reality.  Paradoxically though, if this develops into the new norm for 2016, mkt stability shd return n DBS shares wld likely trade higher  (maybe by 10 to 20%?).

given that DBS carries the heaviest weight on the STI (about 12%), it is largely dependant of how the big boys want to play with the index. given the pending rate hike (which will come but just a matter of when), banks will benefit. if I need a proxy to that play, DBS looks like the best bet among the other local banks.

Don' t worryevery other day DBS buy back it share ...sure got support.. Shareholders mandated them to buy during April AGM... Still have many bullets   to buy..

FATABA      ( Date: 02-Oct-2015 10:20) Posted:

DBS normally dont have big volume to buy/sell ( except at major level) and as an STI component....it is easy to use this to push the STI .
Somehow STI...just feel it might end up flat with Dow future green now ....afternoon Eu may be green too.

TP on my quick punt yest at it went to 16.38 intra day and did not break up further.. not vested now as see if it will test 15.90 support.

Shortists are very active in pushing down this stock as daily matching at close and opening are always lower and lower each day. Today it opened at 16.10 and went to intra day low of 16.00.   Support of 15.90 is not tested today,   Now Bid 16.09. Ask 16.10

As usual very strange matching to push down to close at 16:21.. whereas last done at 16:59:58 was 16.26.. other than shorts, why would anyone force the closing price down as Dow futures up 175 points and Euopean Mkts all green, up strongly..

Congrats brother.  You have the courage to enter at a good px, which is at forward PE of abt 8 from my guesstimate.  I' m not trying to mock or discourage  u.  But I think they will bring the px down  further.  My own targeted entry px is 15.  Even then, my broker was telling me people are now catching the deflationary stock mkt flu, ie, as px get lower, people are targeting even lower px - some are even calling for 14 or 13.  This seems a bit unrealistic to me though.
