CGS CIMB

Overweight (no change)
Highlighted Companies

DBS Group
ADD, TP S$28.35, S$25.04 close
DBS is trading at 1.2x FY21F P/BV.
3Q20 earnings were above expectations,
mainly on stronger-than-expected
treasury income. We expect FY21F
impairments to be lower, although NPA
formation may still trend upwards as
government relief expires.

OCBC
ADD, TP S$12.52, S$10.06 close
OCBC trades at 0.9x FY21F P/BV. 3Q20
results beat expectations mainly due to
lower impairments. Credit cost guidance
is unchanged, but NPLs may still trend
upwards towards 2.5-3.5%. Loans under
moratorium reduced to c.5% (from 10%).

United Overseas Bank
ADD, TP S$27.72, S$22.59 close
UOB is trading at 0.9x FY21F P/BV. NIM
should sustain or trend upwards, a
reversal compared to peers. Group loans
under moratorium reduced to c.10%
(from c.16%). Asset quality visibility
underpins our expectations of lower
credit costs in FY21F.

Singapore banks to benefit from pickup in credit growth this year: CGS-CIMB

TUE, JAN 05, 2021 - 5:50 AM

Singapore

CGS-CIMB has reiterated its " overweight" call on Singapore' s banking sector in anticipation of a pickup in business activity and credit growth in 2021.

This is expected to be driven by the easing of social distancing measures in Phase 3 and the ongoing Covid-19 vaccination programme, both of which commenced recently in December 2020, said analysts Andrea Choong and Lim Siew Khee in a report last Thursday.

All three banks have been maintained at " add" with DBS, OCBC and UOB given target prices of S$28.35, S$12.52 and S$27.72, respectively.

Yes today OCBC and UOB pushing our STI to above 2860 . DBS taking a rest .
As long as our banks ( just 2 is enough) can power STI up
Come end Jan with full yr dividend from OCBC and UOB....it will be  a great catalyst for the prices to move up ( good Feb CNY angpow)
Further ....MAS might REMOVE the cap ?  or at least allow a higher payout ?
Dyodd
happy investing.
