I think JustGrab has huge negative impact against Comfort.

SIA surging price is already there.   If PH falls on friday, you know the fare price for Thurs night and Friday will soaring.   Dec you know price will be surged up.   Jun (school hols) price surged up.   CNY price surged up.
Taxi Fare surge pricing during Demand > supply will definitely benefit Co profit margin.
I do Hope SIA will also implement pricing surge for the benefit towards Shareholders.
Today drop because Comfort does not plan to implement surge pricing?
Even though the pricing is suppose to be dynamic. I don' t think comfortdelgro is planning to lower their profit margin. More likely to see more expensive surges.

I take this as bad news. Intense competition with grab and uber giving crazy discount. Here comfortdelgro plans to increase price. Digging their own graves.

" Taxi giant ComfortDelGro, which controls over 60 per cent of cabs here, has informed the Public Transport Council that it plans to implement the Uber-style fares for phone-booked rides.
The group, which operates the blue Comfort and yellow CityCab taxis, made its move right after its keenest rival Trans-Cab, and Premier Taxi, informed the council of a similar plan.
ComfortDelGro had earlier said it wanted to introduce dynamic pricing - popularly known as surge pricing because fares can skyrocket to five times the usual rate - for some time now, but it was " not allowed" to.
axi fares in Singapore have been deregulated since 1998, but the industry operates under an unspoken understanding that players will still need the blessings of the authorities before any revision can be made."
Observers expect the new fares will be rolled out since the biggest operator has informed the PTC.
They expect SMRT and Prime to follow suit.
Experts have commented that surge pricing is an efficient mechanism to match supply to demand, but raised concerns about its lack of transparency.
At 1700 this bugger was trading at 2.47.
I have an accumulator on this counter, my KO price is 2.48, hence when it closed 2.49, i m entitled to XXXX number of shares at 2.19 (strike price).
Moreover, dividends is on my way, 3rd may, at 6.5 cts.
Huat huat huat.
LOL
Chart is looking pretty good for this. Time to go up?
Blue chip like comfort delgro are politically sustained. Unless the company goes belly up, any earnings dip or bad news present some good buying opportunity. Trading pattern is always range bound but there is money to be made if you go in the right price and sell off when funds play it up. I reckon it has fallen from 2.5x level to now 2.41 range so could be an opportunity to load some. Again, DYODD.

The news didn' t show such information....
Anyway, BBs are the ones who is going to determine comfort share price, as comfort is pretty big, operating in seven countries. Sort of like singtel, tough competition in singapore doesn' t put a dent in it' s net profit as much.
Patient investors can wait to go in, but the train will take off sooner or later, just like singtel.

Today see some action in comfort, hope it continues the momentum to 248/249 levels.
Straits times say coe delay till Friday. Never happen before. Market speculate today Budget talk will curb uber/grab from bidding in coe. Maybe market thinks good for comfort already kenna so jialat from private hire cars.

" Trans-Cab has a fleet of 4,500 taxis, but 11 per cent of them are idle. The revised rates, which kick in on Jan 1, will apply only to drivers who operate the cab alone, without a relief driver.ST PHOTO: LIM YAOHUI"
