3 key synergy between Sembmarine and Keppel O and M if combined:
1) Sembmarine has stronger presence in Europe (UK and Norway) while Keppel OM has stronger presence in US and gulf of Mexico. (through their subsidiaries)
2) Sembmarine is stronger in offshore wind substation while Keppel OM is more effective in high spec rigs.
3) Sembmarine is stronger in LNG bunkering solution while Keppel is more effective in high spec vessels.
Both are equally matched in other offshore engineering solutions like FPSO, FSU etc and have strong presences in South America through their brazillian subsidiaries.
Their combined reputation will be unmatched. The Chinese can catch up if given the opportunity. However, the Americans and Europeans are not likely to give the Chinese the opportunity for political reasons.
Finally, Sembmarine has close to S$2billion of cold hard cash, equivalent to 16 cents per share of cash.
18 days more to D day. Time running out, for the man behind the curtain  a.k.a the PLAYER, to hold SMM' s share price down.

Competition heating up in Qatar' s Gallaf bid race for third phase.
Sembmarine is likely one of the leading contenders as they had won the second phase. (See below)

Sembcorp Marine bags two offshore platform projects valued over S$550 million
- The Group will take on fabrication and offshore brownfield integration works for two well-head platforms, under North Oil Company&rsquo s Gallaf Batch 2 Project to maintain production capacity at Al Shaheen oil field in Qatar
- Separately, Sembcorp Marine will also fabricate certain platforms and related bridges for the Tyra field redevelopment project in Danish North Sea

Singapore, Dec 26, 2019: Sembcorp Marine Offshore Platforms Pte. Ltd. has clinched two offshore platform contracts worth over S$550 million that support redevelopment efforts at the Al Shaheen and Tyra fields, located respectively in Qatari waters and the Danish North Sea.
Sembcorp Marine will team up with customer North Oil Company (NOC) to fabricate two well-head platforms for the NOC-operated Al Shaheen oil field, which will be bridge-linked to the field&rsquo s existing facilities.

Guess who built the first FPSO for Equinor at the Barents Sea based on its proprietary circular hull design??
Yes, indeed. More business in the LNG bunkering arena, the next big thing as more ships get powered by LNG.
In the meantime, Sembmarine is bidding for the $1.2 billion Wisting contracts from Equinor in Norway. Very prestigious contracts to build topsides and hull for Equinor' s challenging project in Norway' s Barents Sea.

Equinor is planning for a similar unit (as below) to Vaar Energi' s Goliat FPSO for its Wisting oil field.

Sembmarine in the news:
Classification and technical advisory body ABS, Sembcorp Marine and A*STAR&rsquo s Institute of High-Performance Computing (IHPC) have completed joint development projects in LNG bunkering and the use of LNG as a marine fuel.
ABS said that the projects arose out of a memorandum of understanding  signed by the trio in 2018  to advance the use of LNG as a marine fuel and to make LNG more accessible, reliable, and safer for the industry.
The joint development projects brought together engineers with diverse backgrounds and expertise to study a range of key issues including leakage during LNG bunkering, boil-off rate management for Type C tanks, and the heat transfer between LNG containment and surrounding structures.
Gu Hai, ABS VP at the Singapore innovation and research centre, said: &ldquo Through this collaboration, the partners have made headway in research and development that can help drive greater adoption of LNG as a bridging fuel, through innovative solutions for the transfer and containment of LNG.
&ldquo The success of these projects demonstrates ABS&rsquo commitment to collaborating with industry partners to develop sustainable solutions&rdquo .
According to ABS, simulation methodologies developed in the joint projects will facilitate advances in mitigation measures for containing gas leaks, Type C Tank design, through better prediction of boil-off rates, and insulation design for cryogenic storage systems.
Lim Keng Hui, executive director at IHPC, added: &ldquo We are committed to creating new value for our partners through the translation of R& D into positive outcomes for the offshore, marine and energy sectors.
&ldquo IHPC&rsquo s multidisciplinary core capabilities have been applied to address industry challenges and encourage the adoption of LNG as a sustainable fuel&rdquo .
Simon Kuik, head of R& D at Sembcorp Marine, stated: &ldquo Recognized as the cleanest form of fossil fuel, LNG is suitable to be used as an interim source of fuel for the coming decade. Sembcorp Marine has a strong track record of providing LNG-ready solutions that ensure the safe, reliable and cost-effective adoption of this fuel.
&ldquo This collaboration with ABS and IHPC leverages on Sembcorp Marine Tuas Boulevard Yard as a living lab for our engineers and partners to test-bed and validate R& D outcomes in line with our continuing mission to innovate, enhance and expand our product solutions&rdquo .

Seems like there was a last minute surge in volume on a small price gain into the Friday close.
In itself, that is a bullish sign. May gap up to above 15 cents on Monday morning. Let' s see.
20 days  to DECISION day!
All up to Temasek now, whether they are willing to pay to faciliatte the marriage.
