i agree. The market doesnt like the loyalty rewards points program as their response to uber/grab. More headaches for their accounting methodology, and finance team, n marketing programs to fight uber/grab head on. More cost to be incurred likely.

They need to form alliance and not work against. It will continue to break new lows till the day the mgt come to its senses.

If ComfortD would work up together with Bus and SMRT by any Passenger who took ComfortD Taxi with fare more den $7 onwards, they could able to take any time within that day on bus and SMRT having a 50% discount.
They really have to think of way for compete with Grab/Uber. Or very soon Comfort D might loss the chee$ecake.

i myself holds this share but i take grab/uber due to promo codes, but when there are no codes/ surging, i rather take MRT/SBS. and i dunno if you guys realize, if you take very frequently from a start point, e.g. your house, the price increase over time, when comparing phone side by side from the another one, the price can be different OR the price can show surging, but when you put 1 block away, the price is normal. lol Logic. i might be bias as i am a shareholder, but i think the surge is horrible and not worth to take if there is no promo. haha. but it kinda worries me when i dont see much comfort cab on the road and private hire are   pushing to do flag down and picking from taxi stand. but again, prob u see uber/grab wont black face becos of the incentive, thats why its worth for them to take short trips. they just need to clock more trips to hit the extra $, question is how long de extra $/ promo codes can they burn. sian. this week no promo code unless u top up. MEH

Because they are paying less or same price or more for the same service . At least some time no need to see the black face of taxi drive or complain on taking a short trip customer after queuing for long. Passengers rather let uber or grab earn that few dollars than facing a black face driver that complains earning less.

Common sight nowadays... taxis queue at taxi stands, but passengers take out mobile phone to get Grab.

They will profit from delays cause by smart train fault, signal fault, signal testing, signal switching, train ahead still in the station, E-stop activated, etc. Pack till can not board. Discourage people taking public transport. Encourage people to have own transport as long as he/she can afford

If SMRT keeps up with the signalling/maintanence issue, I think Uber will be in Singapore for a very very long time. I believe surge charges can be very profitable.

Singapore market too small. I bet Uber might quick soon if no more funding support.

I still can't accept whenever public transport breaks down or heavy rain the Uber/grab fare will shoot up to 40+ when the usual fare is only 10+...you guys will take that? I'd rather take ofo bike. Wahaha....

I' ve always wondered. Once fully autonomous cars are mainstream, what separates an autonomous taxi from an autonomous private hire?

To compete with grab and uber they have no choice need to improve their service (such as not choosing customer, dont mind earning $10 or less per trip, etc )

investshare      ( Date: 02-Jul-2017 12:34) Posted:

Will be earlier than you think.

In some cases, you will be incentivized such as Grab giving free rides.

In some cases it maybe no choice. In some area such as science park or industrial park, government may zone certain area for autonomous vehicle only.
