Yes I think conversion to residential is the game.
i also do not think cdl htrust will be privatised.  part of reason is kwek looks like bo lui.
big owner bo lui that is why their shares got sold down. if not they will tell their kaki to push it up.
but not agree that cdl htrust propert are run down.  many of them has refurbish like corpthorn king . although lease balance is going down. surely sla will be happy when more money pay up to renew leased.  other potential is convert to condo development, that is when there is a much higher potential.
most important is the younger boss must tell to stop buying and start selling. and monestised to recycle old money to new projects.   
got cash then can have more cash.  bo lui people ignore you.
long term look at havelock road. so many hotels along this road.  when more commercial development along havelock road. this potentially can become the next orchard road type of attractions.  city development has quite a few property along havelock road.

CDL H Trust will NOT Be privatised. Only certain assets of the trust has strategic value. The rest are on decaying lease with low redevelopment potential

They have said what they will do with the proceeds and the main focus is paying down debt and buying new investments. Perhaps they will privatise some of their subsidaries like CDL HTrust. Don' t think a large special dividend is coming.
CDL RNAV IS $19.77. EXTREMELY UNDERVALUED WITH POTENTIAL CORPORATE ACTION COMING!

City Developments completes sale of stake in South Beach to IOI Properties for RM2.75 bil
 
City Developments Limited (CDL)&rsquo s wholly-owned subsidiary Ascent View Holdings has completed the disposal of its stake in Scottsdale Properties, the holding company of South Beach Consortium.
 
Ascent View Holdings sold its 50.1% stake to IOI Properties Group, which already owned 49.9% of Scottsdale, for RM2.75 billion. This sale gives the Malaysian developer full ownership over the South Beach mixed-used development, which includes South Beach Tower, South Beach Avenue, and the JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach.
 
IOI has paid $835.29 million in cash, inclusive of the deposit of $41.25 million previously paid, to CDL.

So if you are not willing to wait, just sell and buy other more powerful stocks like STEng, SCI and Singtel.

obviously September one 25 points, if more = better. Dont want to wait for December/January one, maybe by that time this stock will already fall back to 6 😛 maybe not, But I don' t have so much patience anymore and I don' t have this " faith" that it will go 8 and higher.

Am contemplating to sell and wonder at what price.. Think will just let go at between 7.35-7.50 as what you have mentioned
