Any oil rig cancellations and customer defaults at SembMarine will certainly impact SCI as well

But if we look at the flip side of the coin, n subscribe to the notion that the shale n SA camps are trying to drown each other by flooding the mkt with the leylong prices, then they really are suicidal cos when demand recovers in future, they wld have depleted a substantial portion of their reserves on the cheap.  This  in turn might result in self-inflicted poverty going into the next millennium?

I have also been having the same thought for sometime.  N, one of them is the PRC.  Believe they are really drinking up real cheap, which will do them a lot of good when their economy recovers.  In fact, my other thought has been that if oil continues to be  this low, n those who can keep soaking up the excess dirt cheap, n ' hide' them ' at home' , then this wld probably prolong the depressed oil mkt.  Who knows how much the PRC is now hoarding with so much loose cash available.

| Many non oil producing countries are buying oil on the cheap quietly. These oil are stored away for future used. At this rate oil wealth is being transferred from oil producing countries to non oil producing countrie |

there is a war in middle east with the russian and others bombing oil facilities, surprise why oil price still holding up? something not right... oil is a finite resource with the bombing, supply is getting damaged, with demand growing the world over and singapore own lil dot going for 6.5 mil popln, it is a matter of time when the pendulum will swing back to the other side.

furthermore, now is Dec and generally a lull period in share trading. look at the fundanmental and macro picture. evaluate. trade with care.

Little ones, great insight. the rich nation will only get richer... at the expense of oil producing countries and the rest of the world.
As i have said earlier, Dec is a quiet month... a good time to quietly accumulate...

Yep, with oil not seemingly finding the floor n SMM mired in deep sh*t, $2 likely to beckon.  On the other hand, with O& G so cheap, wldn' t their utility business improve in margins n mitigate SMM' s troubles?

| Checked the charts and lows during the GFC could be about $2 - hence still has downside risks. And oil prices could have been higher then as well. |
