When Sheng Siong has high credibility in Singapore, I can see a different scenario in China.
Sheng Siong involvement will lend credibility to China market since the China market is plagued by food scares. Hopefully, the Chinese trusts it more and patronise their stores more than others.

I have the same concern too. But no risk no gain. Must keep a watchful eye.
Just a little caution. No doubt the JV may in the long run prove very successful. With the current situation in PRC though, and high statup, interest and other operating costs and currency fluctuations, the likelihood of the venture adversely impacting bottomline in the near term cannot be discounted. If that happens, CKs will have a field day forcing the share price down for their own gains. Just look at Midas, HLA and GLP as a few examples. DYODD though.
