I am no military expert but I look at history.

Iraq and Iran fought a brutal war for 10 years which saw millions killed. And it ended a stale mate. Draw.

The US, together with some allies, but the fighting mainly by the US, brought Saddam' s army down to it' s knees in about 3 months.

Put these two together, if it comes to open war, it will be quite short. The only fear is the nuclear threat. But  I don' t think it will come ot that.

But you say nobody can drill ? It doesnt make sense ! Oil price rise as a whole with scare of some disruption in oil supplies... and iran is just one of the opec many other countries comtributing a fraction of the oil production There are still russia , oil from north sea , saudi arabia , iraq , uae etc etc Dilling continues even if iran dont drill.... worst kena trade embargo from us and the rest of the world

 

Irony is, as crazy and irrational Trump is, nobody dares to challenge him.

And really, what can Iran do when even China and Russia can' t these days ?

DOW may actually recover on Monday.

Conversely, for those who are excited about the rise in the price of oil, I say for this present reason of tension in the gulf, don' t be too optimistic. Oil price rise is because market may fear disruption in supplies. Which is to say drilling activities may be affected. If nobody can drill, how can O& G counters benefit ?
