Hopefully DBS, JP, MS will follow suit. OFI at book value is abt $5B, equivalent to $1.33. if ipo or sold, value will be much higher, plus upcoming special dividend with sale completion of Agri and Mindsprint. Hope the Co will start distribution when they announce H1 results in Aug

Few companies are as enigmatic as food and agriculture platform Olam Group. Surviving a negative report from short-seller Muddy Waters, the company received a vote of confidence when Temasek made a voluntary general offer of $2.23 per share in 2014, which resulted in the sovereign wealth fund and concerted parties emerging with an 80% stake. Mitsubishi Corporation acquired around 20% of Olam at $2.75 per share in 2015, while Temasek pared its holdings to slightly above 50% by 2020.

Since August 2014, Olam&rsquo s share price has trended down from $2.60 to below 85 cents. Along the way, it was removed from the Straits Times Index, of which it was a constituent.

_Olam Group (OLG SP)_

*BUY | Target Price: SGD 1.60 | +60% Upside*

*Restructuring Story in Final Phase*
Olam is transforming from a complex agricultural conglomerate into a focused food ingredients company, anchored by its Olam Food Ingredients (ofi) division. The group is simplifying and selling off non-core assets, with over SGD5b in capital expected to be unlocked in the process.

*Asset Sales Pave Way for Special Dividends*
The sale of Olam Agri to Saudi state-owned investor SALIC has been completed, raising SGD3.4b to pay down debt. Additional asset sales (IT arm Mindsprint and logistics stake ARISE) could generate a further SGD0.7b ? enough to potentially deliver an 18% special dividend yield if fully returned to shareholders.

*Core Business Well Positioned for Recovery*
The ofi division generates around SGD1.1b per year in operating profit (earnings before interest and tax). With cocoa prices falling over 50% from their peak and coffee supply improving, the business is expected to free up large amounts of working capital ? boosting cash flow and reducing borrowing costs.

*Shares Look Deeply Undervalued*
Stripping out asset sale proceeds, the market is effectively valuing ofi at just 2?2.5x its annual operating profit ? close to distressed levels. Global peers typically trade at 8?15x. This gap is seen as unjustified, and a key driver of the 60% upside target.

Might as well called it as O-lame (as in lame excuse) if no special dividends given when announcing its full year results.

Did the CEO say or promise there was a final dividend to be declared ?

Buying on hope of 15 cts dividend, maybe false hope again just as when we thought there was a final dividend definitely for 2025 result and was told that the company is not distributing.

Ongoing Divestments
  • Mindsprint: Olam announced the sale of this IT services unit to  Wipro  for US$375 million on 6 April 2026. The transaction is expected to be finalized by the  end of June 2026.
  • Arise Ports & Logistics (P& L): The group is in the process of divesting its remaining 32.4% stake for US$175 million. While proceeds were initially expected by the end of April, recent updates indicate the sale should complete by  Q3 2026.
  • Olam Agri (Remaining Stake): While the first major tranche (44.58%) was completed on 27 April 2026, Olam still holds a  19.99% stake. This remaining portion is subject to a put-and-call option that will likely be exercised to complete the full exit within the  next three years
Future Targets
Olam Group intends to responsibly divest its six remaining non-core assets over the next three years:
  • Olam Palm Gabon  &   Olam Rubber Gabon
  • Caraway  (Packaged Foods)
  • Rusmolco  (Dairy)
  • Mantra  &   Gabon Fertilizer Project
We might get to see special dividend news announcement on Q3 2026 from sale of Arise and June 2026 from sale of Wipro.
But it is only a might as olam group management did not state when will start the special dividend but chances are there as likely special dividend is staggered and not lump sum.

Wolf Money(portfolio update end April 2026)long post Olam related

Mike doesn&rsquo t buy Nike

I went into a leading sportswear store to look at the World Cup jerseys on sale. The recent punt on Nike has to do with it. Nike&rsquo s leading position in sportswear is losing ground. Over the years, due to the company focusing on doing more direct sales online, many retailers were sidelined by the change in strategy. Many empty shelves in sports wear retailers give On and Hoka the opportunity to have a stronger presence in their stores.

Spot on ! The usd2b to pare down the debt will still be distributed as special dividends toOlam group shareholders eventually .

You are correct about the assets being transferred around.

More broadly trying to split the debt between OFI and OGH is somewhat meaningless for the same reason. At the end of the day both are 100% liabilities of the listed entity in which we as shareholders are invested in.

Assets Transferred to ofi (Olam Food Ingredients)
The re-organisation moved Olam?s value-added "ingredients" businesses into ofi to prepare it for a planned Initial Public Offering (IPO):
Coffee Plantation Business: Transferred from ROG to ofi in 2021.
Cocoa & Dairy: All global processing and sourcing for these ingredients.
Nuts & Spices: Includes almonds, cashews, and various spice processing plants.

Assets Divested from ROG
Rather than being transferred to Agri or ofi, several major assets in the Remaining Olam Group have been sold to third parties as part of a liquidation strategy to return capital to shareholders:
