More likely they find it better to keep debt in the company and hold cash - in case an dark knight comes along with a privatization/TKO offer. No dividend announcement fortifies this view. With a little over ~50% ownership by insiders - this can be an easy sell.

It is likely to be a short-term loan used to bridge construction expenses. The classification as a current liability is clearly shown in their financial statements. This indicates that the loan for the logistics hub is expected to be repaid or refinanced within the next 12 months.

Structuring it this way is strategic, especially given the expectation that the Federal Reserve may lower interest rates later this year, which could make refinancing more favourable.

Bank loans for building should be classified as long term liability and not current liability

Chasen appears to be turning the corner. FY2025 shows improving margins, positive cash flow, and a clear shift towards higher-value segments like Specialist Relocation. Revenue rose 21.5 percent and gross profit jumped 65 percent, while the group swung from a loss of 6.6 million in FY2024 to a net profit of 33.2 million - mainly from a one-off disposal gain.

Operations are being streamlined. The sale of CZ Logistics removed a lower-margin segment, and the new Chasen Logistics Hub is set to drive future growth. Debt has increased but is supported by strong cash from the disposal. NAV per share rose from 15.1 to 21.7 cents.

At around 25 million market cap, Chasen trades at just 0.32 times NAV and 0.78 times earnings. Even after adjusting for one-off items, valuation looks attractive. Further contract wins would be the icing on the cake.

Sell on news? If not for the one off gain in disposal, it is still loss making. No dividend. Debt also high. Trade with care.
