This is a good piece of news for the ICG cement plant based in Kazakhstan. A pity that ICG does not report quarterly anymore, but one can expect quarterly announcement updates on Business.
" Steppe Cement said on Tuesday (13 Apr) that it sold 265,556 tonnes of cement for KZT 4.88bn (£ 8.2m) in the first quarter, representing increases of 13% and 22% respectively."
" The AIM-traded firm said the Kazakh cement market in the first three months of 2021 increased by 12% year-on-year, while its market share rose to 13.2% from 12.6% a year earlier."
" It said the average price for delivered cement in the period was KZT 18,384 per tonne excluding VAT, up 8% over the prior year."

Very comprehensive chart explanation. Indeed the surge in volume did not result in higher price. The "ceiling" of 61/62 is tested and did not correspond with the volume registered. BB time and again push up the price when 56 cent is reached. High volume took place at 61/62 and 58/59 cent. When the conditions are right, price should go beyond 62 cent. 56/57 is an attractive entry point. Please understand your limit when trade. I hope to accumulate 1 million at 56/57 cent :)

Here is an updated chart of ICG with On-Balance Volume (OBV). I reproduce the pertinent explanations for some readers so that the chart makes sense to you.
One notices that ICG has a trend line that' s sloping upwards within its OBV. However, during this exact same period of time, the price is not moving upwards. Instead, it is recording lower highs and stuck in the sideways range. This results in a divergence between the price and the OBV which simply means that while the indicator is moving in the upwards direction, the price is not following.
Subsequently, if one draws circles at the highs of OBV and match them to the highs of the chart, one will again confirm a new high in the OBV with the price chart recording lower within the sideways range. Noticing these events in real-time do provide investors early warning signs of the future direction price will break out from. Rightfully, the price upwards movement should follow the OBV uptrend as it has done several months ago. In this regard, I look forward to seeing ICG' s price movement following the OBV uptrend movement soon!

For me, I' ve entered in December 2020 and will continue to stay on with ICG. The first checkpoint for me will be the release of 1H2021 results in Aug 2021.

Queue for 56 cent at 350k but couldn't get it. Looks like price is stabilising at 57 cent. Tomorrow will try 56 cent again. Happy "investing" should I say "measured gambling" !

Bought 56 cent for 300k yesterday and sold at 59 cent today. Now queue for 56 cent again. Interesting price movement.

As expected, the BB is pushing the price back towards 62 cent today. Then the ceiling will be reached. Those bought at 56 cent yesterday, time to go for a nice snack. BB happy to buy for you:)

ICG price basing on trend will hit 61/62 and then decline back to 56/57. Just be careful not thiam thiam. Dont over buy. Know your limit:)

ICG subsidiary acquires cement-related assets in Kazakhstan
MAINBOARD-LISTED International Cement Group (ICG) has announced that its subsidiary Sharcem has entered into a sale and purchase agreement to acquire cement-related assets in Kazakhstan on an " as-is" condition.
In an exchange filing on Monday, ICG - a cement producer with operations in Central Asia - said it is acquiring the assets from Kazakhcement and Development Bank of Kazakhstan.
The purchase consideration of around 7.07 billion Kazakhstan tenge (S$22.1 million) will be payable in two cash instalments. The amount will be come from internal sources and third party financing, ICG said.
Key assets in the sale and purchase agreement include seven land plots with a total size of 125ha and objects located on these land plots - which include dormitories, railway tracks and facilities for the cement plant.
ICG said the proposed acquisition presents an " attractive opportunity" for the group to establish a stronger foothold in Central Asia, where demand for cement remains strong.
It added that the acquisition of the assets will grow its current annual cement production capacity by one million tonnes to four million tonnes in total.
The acquisition is expected to be completed by May 31, 2021, and is conditional upon Kazakhcement completing the transfer of all assets to Sharcem, and the sellers removing all liens and encumbrances on the assets.
Sharcem is 60 per cent owned by ICG' s wholly-owned subsidiary International Cement Shar. The remaining 40 per cent is held by an individual, Nurzhan Shakirov, who is the local partner for ICG' s existing cement plant in Kazakhstan, Alacem.
ICG' s substantial shareholders as at March 16, 2021 were its non-independent and non-executive director Zhang Zengtao, and its chairman and executive director Ma Zhaoyang. They collectively had deemed interest in over 80 per cent of ICG' s shares.
ICG' s shares fell 1.8 per cent or 0.1 Singapore cent on Monday to close at 5.6 cents, before the announcement.

ICG and Mr Nurzhan Shakirov have entered into a value-added acquisition to acquire an existing cement plant in a 60:40 ratio for a total consideration amount of SGD$22m. Given that the KZT currency has depreciated significantly against SGD, the payment will also be beneficial for ICG as it will be done in KZT currency which obviates the need for any forex losses.
Based on the FY2020 annual report, ICG has $10m cash-on-hand. After a 60:40 ratio, ICG will need to pay approximately $13.2m. This is a bearable amount for ICG.
The complete acquisition on 31 May 2021 will also increase the annual cement production from 3Mt to 4Mt, which will reflect in 1H2021 reporting.
