US COVID-19 deaths is outrageous but Trump will not lockdown even if COVID-19 so they're different. Economy is more important?
If we follow them and just allow the COVID-19 spread without any concern about the number of deaths, I think we can achieve high turnaround. Anyway, the number of deaths in Singapore is not high.

US Airlines are on rocket boosters last one week. Crazy to see AA up 40% in one night. Ridiculous.

I wonder how Monday SQ opens will be like. Yes, there is dilution, but how does the equation change with the Wall St' s past week of euphoria. They covered in 2 days what SQ cover in 2 weeks.
Will SQ catch up?

of course, they have domestic market. and from the TV news, it doesn' t look like anyone bother about Covid anymore, unlike here and in Asia generally.

At current price of 4.33, its equivalent before xr is 6.32

So those who bought 6 plus are still ok

Those holding mother shares increase paper loss?
No worry. When economy is well then price should be better but not for those who bought above 6+ this year.

Trade with caution no contra no short and DYODD

Remember, due to the dilution, there will be many shares ready to be unloaded.

So drink more and watch more. May last for a week

My humble opinion is that SIA will begin its ascension .........

As more flights are added in the coming weeks and months due to the opening up of more countries...

The recent reports that SIA is the most   heavily shorted counter, shortlists will have to buy back from the open market to return to the lenders.

Investors may have noticed that SIA was sold down in the earlier part of trading yesterday. My Guess is that
investors who bought SIA rights and exercised them started to sell off. Settlement is T + 2. It is possible due to SIA' s announcement that exercised rights shares will be credited on 8/6/20. Then SIA shares were pushed up gradually .......a good sign,

Have a great weekend ahead!

But once all the rights have been absorbed within few days .... it might actually stay above $4 (After the BBs have earned from the rights and move to other counters). SIA has $15B funds which will enable SIA to last 3~4 years ... (assuming 1B losses per Q). Ppl are hopeful that vaccines will be available very soon. Maybe, there is a possibility that by mid or end of next year (when vaccines are available, the flights might return to the pre-covid price of $9 (which is the new adjusted price of $5.4). As price has already baked in quarterly lost of 1B ....with the current market optimism, it should stay above $4 as long as the losses is within expectation.

It' s risk to short now .... the only window could be on monday morning.... once the shares are being absorbed within few days ...it should above $4 or might even stay at this price.

xtraderx      ( Date: 05-Jun-2020 17:19) Posted:

More likely to open at $4 than $4.60, a lot of excess rights shares holder will throw at the open, add short sellers to that and you get a gap down.

I think thats likely to be the low of this cycle though, March low is 3.91 if we adjust for rights, so $4 means the sp hasn' t moved at all relative to the broader market or other airlines.

The general market has turned bullish. At the moment it wont be easy to short. If short, is probably just to catch the corrective wave down. Dow is now up 700 points at the moement. If stays at these levels tonight, we can all cheer for most counters on Monday, including SIA. Hurray!

Login to your CDP account. Go to " Share Transaction" Tab.  If you subscribe correctly, you should see " Blocked - Application/Subscription of Righ" under SIA R .... and check the Transcation quantity.

Just curious cause i didn't subscribe for the MCB but i subscribe for the rights. When i log in to CDP I can see some free quantity in my MCB R column but for the Rights column it's reflected as zero free quantity.Don't tell me i apply wrongly?

TheDuellist      ( Date: 05-Jun-2020 13:14) Posted:

Rights MCB will only be listed on the 9 June. So I guess many are not watching it at the moment. Anyway the MCBs are for the long haul, I will probably buy some from the market to keep, no hurry actually.
