Guangzhou to build 250,000 quarantine beds as China COVID cases rise
BEIJING, Nov 17 (Reuters) - The southern Chinese city of Guangzhou is setting up makeshift hospitals and quarantine sites with capacity for nearly 250,000 beds for COVID-19 infections, officials said on Thursday, as cases across the country hit their highest level since April.
China is battling coronavirus outbreaks in numerous major cities, including Chongqing and the capital Beijing, while it takes steps to try to ease the burden of its strict zero-COVID policy, which has caused severe economic damage and widespread frustration nearly three years into the pandemic.

Cannot be helped, need to open up.
Cases will spike up.

The reports just shown Covid is still alive and terrorising ppl all over the world.
China numbers are those with symptoms and likely isolated in hospitals. With graduall reopening, cases will go up.
Same as those reported in Europe or Japan or Korea etc.
Those who checked ART themselves in Sg are mostly unreported and not in the cases numbers.
Just be safe when travelling.
Put on your masks especially in Japan and Europe and USA....
Cheers.

These covid numbers no longer means much to glices demand. Gloves is only use when they do PCR tests or in hospital. Most ppl only treat at home or ART. no impact to gloves demand

Covid Cases Rise In Europe As France Enters Eighth Wave
With winter approaching, France has &ldquo officially&rdquo entered its eighth wave of  Covid-19. Over 50,000 daily cases have been confirmed and French health officials are considering whether to once again impose masks in public places and transport.
The Health Ministry warned last month that a new wave was imminent after cases jumped by 55.5%. The figures from the Health Ministry and health authority  Santé publique France  show the daily average of contagion at around 17,000 and rising.
The situation in France reflects the resurgence of the epidemic brewing in Europe as cooler weather arrives, &ldquo with public health experts warning that vaccine fatigue and confusion over types of available vaccines will likely limit booster uptake,&rdquo Reuters explains...

TOKYO-  Japan' s daily COVID-19 cases topped 100,000 on Tuesday for the first time in two months after the government scrapped coronavirus border controls and implemented a domestic travel subsidy program in a bid to spur inbound and local tourism last month.
With the country bracing for its eighth wave of infections, Tuesday' s number of 105,184 topped the 100,000 mark for the first time since Sept. 14, when daily cases totaled 100,260.
The northernmost main island of Hokkaido, a popular tourist destination, reported a record 10,906 cases, while Tokyo saw 11,196, topping the 10,000 mark for the first time in two months.
In October, the government removed its cap on daily arrivals and its ban on individual travelers and non-prearranged trips. It also started the National Travel Discount program, offering subsidies of up to 11,000 yen ($79) per person per night up to a total of seven nights...
