I am amazed all these analysts anyhow come out report.

Chang beer effect was at 4q 2015 and 1q 2016. 2q 2016 show the revenue an profit all drain back to 2Q 2015 level which mean the chang beer new brand effect is off.

This result this drastically drop from 1.06. People who up to date like me, shorted and earned. Those believe this report go horlan.

What is the professional of these analyst?

Chang is finally changing ThaiBev&rsquo s fortunes

By  Gwyneth Yeo  / theedgemarkets.com.sg   | September 5, 2016 : 1:23 PM MYT

SINGAPORE (Sept 5): CIMB is maintaining its &ldquo add&rdquo recommendation for Thai Beverage and raising its target price to $1.14 from 92 cents after the group&rsquo s rebranding exercise for Chang beer last August successfully boosted the group&rsquo s overall earnings in 2QFY16.

Chang beer was rebranded to better connect with younger consumers. The group achieved this by raising prices, investing in packaging and marketing to remove the stigma of Chang as a low-income beer, and reconfiguring its sales distribution to improve the freshness of beer in its channels.

Following the exercise, ThaiBev&rsquo s beer sales volumes shot up 61% in 1HFY16, while revenue rose 70% from price hikes. In addition, pretax earnings rose even faster at 330% from higher operating leverage.

In a note on Monday, CIMB&rsquo s Jonathan Seow expects margins to improve further moving forward, arising from lower packaging costs as the proportion of returnable bottles increases, and lower depreciation as a large proportion of PPE will be fully depreciated by 2017.

&ldquo ThaiBev is an entirely different beast now. Previously, only its spirits business was profitable while all its other business segments were breakeven, at best. The recent rebranding of the beer business has sprung a new growth driver, and beer now forms 20% of the 1HFY16 group net profit,&rdquo said Seow.

Post-rebranding, Chang&rsquo s market share had risen to 40% from 30% previously. Seow estimates its market share will reach between 45% and 50% for the full year and overtake its key competitor Leo&rsquo s market leadership position by 2017.

In the face of the new competition, Leo lowered prices which made little impact on market share. Instead, retail prices of Chang are now at price parity with Leo, when the latter was traditionally priced at a premium.

To be sure, the improvement in Chang&rsquo s earnings has already driven ThaiBev&rsquo s share price up by 40% year to date. CIMB&rsquo s higher price target represents 24.7 times forward FY17 earnings, which is in line with ThaiBev&rsquo s peers.

I shorted it heavily in past 1 weeks.

I am confidence to do it and hold it. So you better avoid this counter.

Simple, Chart already turn sideline at 1.04-.1.06 for 2 weeks and this week gonna throw down. TA is downtrend

Last quarter result is back to square, revenue and profit all down, it show that the new beer they promoted 1 year ago has ceased and gone, FA it is also down with PE of 25. Which current price can't sustain at all at above 1

ThaiBev&rsquo s investments in beer pay off reports 16% rise in half-year earnings

By:
Kang Wan Chern

SINGAPORE (Aug 11): Thai Beverage, one of the best-performing component stocks of the Straits Times Index this year, will be rewarding shareholders with dividends of THB0.20 per share after it announced a strong set of 1H16 results on Thursday night.

For the first six months of the year, ThaiBev reported earnings of THB14.5 billion ($560 million), up 16% from a year ago. This came on the back of an 18.8% rise in revenues to THB100.6 billion. Excluding contributions from its subsidiary and soft drinks maker Fraser & Neave, earnings were up 24.5%, totalling THB10.5 billion.

While the spirits business remained the largest contributor to ThaiBev&rsquo s top and bottom lines, it was the beer business that stood out during the half year. Revenues were up by more than 70% in spite of weaker consumer sentiment while earnings rose a stunning 2.4 times.

The strong performance of the beer segment can be attributed to the makeover of Chang beer last August. Under the overhaul, Chang beer was repositioned from a low-class beer to a premium brand and given a new emerald green, embossed bottle to replace its traditional brown packaging. Meanwhile, its alcohol content was also reduced to 5% from 6.4%, giving it a smoother taste and making it easier to drink for its target market of those aged 20-35.

ThaiBev officials say beer sales, which spiked since the launch of the new Chang beer, have now stabilised, with the brand controlling a 40% share of the Thai market. By 2020, ThaiBev&rsquo s goal is to wrest market share from Leo and Singha beer to become the No.1 beer brewer in Thailand, with control of at least 45% of the Thai market.

While it has been anticipating competition from its main rival, Boon Rawd Brewery, which brews Leo and Singha, has not yet come up with a response to counter the rise of Chang beer.

&ldquo What&rsquo s also encouraging is that we are ahead of Leo in terms of mindshare, which is an important measure because this means Chang is the brand consumers will go for first when they think of beer. It is a good measure of how our brand will do in the future,&rdquo the company said.

Meanwhile, revenue from non-alcoholic beverages business has also improved. However, the business remained in the red as ThaiBev incurred heavier expenses to market est, its new cola brand, and raise distribution for products such as the 100Plus sports drink in Thailand as well as Oishi teas in Singapore and Malaysia.

Shares of ThaiBev last traded at $1.03.

Wait a while to 1 to 3 days for the bulls to tired or price higher, then short it for fat meat.

If no news or bad news come out, better still :)
