It is through a convertible debenture so will not be reflected - Accor has 5%

Please take a look and read page 231 of the latest annual report.
There is no indication that Accor holds any shares exceeding 5%.

1.  In December 2016 Accor Hotels invested S$24 million (US$16.9 million) in Banyan Tree Holdings, gaining a 5% stake through a convertible debenture. The two hotel groups collaborated to build and run Banyan Tree hotels worldwide. Banyan Tree was  intended  to benefit from AccorHotels' global booking system and loyalty programme, Le Club AccorHotel   

2. Ho is already on Video record as saying that he is thinking about splitting Hotel and Property secions within Banyan Tree Holdings

Of course, everyone talks and like business light business operations such as the likes of CLI and Keppel which bought into assets managers in the millions.

The Qataris (QIA) bought into Banyan in 2007/08, from my recollectionn at abov $1.50 pr share.

QIA holds a substantial stake in Accor.

Wouldn' t it be more logical for  QIA to privatize with the HOs  and inject at a much higher into Accor?

Through this QIA increases it stake in Accor and the HOs could participate in the growth and businesses of Accor.

To privatise at how much? Of course, as low as possible to reap maximium gains into Accor

Yes, there is a difference between a) and b) but one has to keep in mind that the 55 acres of freehold land in Phuket was acquired in 1984, 40 years ago.

Now it is valuable and a shortage of land in strategic location.

Investors sell when they have achieved their goals.

Do you own analysis and make your own decisions,

To each individual' s interpretation. Is the USD4B / USD5B referring to a) the market value for the land bank, or b) the potential sales revenue for development projects which are to be undertaken and spread out over the next one to two decades ?

I have been reading up more on Banyan Group after my recent purchase. There are a couple of things that comes to my attention after reading their latest annual report. The management in an Edge article in late 2024 mentions the Phuket land is worth USD $4b to 5b. I have decided to do an investigation on their accounting methodology and balance sheet.

Simple. Based upon Chart. momentum, fact that this period is the EMBARGO period and also that traditionally after any such rally short sellers arise.
