Short sellers indeed use brokerage firm nominee shares to facilitate their short sales in form of DLCs, CFD, etc. Every brokerage firm is required to report short positions (valued at $2M or above) to an authority within 2 business days after the "Position Day" which is typically a Friday, meaning the reporting deadline will be the following Tuesday. Then short positions will be published the following day. In case of leveraging shorts, if shares price surge, shortists can have high risk of shorts squeeze. Really no sign of significant selling down by retail investors for the past week. As i am monitoring, SCI's volume of short positions have broken record at highest level never seen before. It was 68% short volume yesterday. 2 consecutive days of being the most shorted stock. I am perplexed why has SCI become a favourite for shortists? Has it got any connection with the fact that DLCs are being traded for SCI? They manipulate the main stock to maximise profits from DLCs?

As of last Friday, SCI already attracted 46.3M institutional buy week on week (from sgx data report). It is matched with increasing short shares held by shortists. Plus Daily 50% to 70% sell short so far and still

Significant increase has occurred weekly till currently from 5 weeks ago's 48.8M shorted shares. Neverthless, SCI rose strongly to $6.39 as of today. Data centre will definitely make SCI wealthy and dominant leader. It is very interesting to know that based on experts' comments, SCI powers over 690 MV data centres but also owns some data centres including 90MV in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, other in Indonesia through joint venture agreement, and future 280MV data centre under phase 1 project agreement in UK. SCI is a global energy company with operations in 11 countries and some 25GW of total capacity, of which 17.2GW comes from renewable sources. It supplies over 690MW of power to high-tech manufacturing in Singapore, including a recent 150MW deal with Micron here, a leader in memory solutions. It supplies roughly a third of all data centre energy demand in Singapore, making it the dominant green energy provider for the sector here. Citing expert's comment that each 100 MW data centre (if it operates on continuous basis 24/7 at full capacity) will generate about 8,700M KWH electricity per year, much more than about 5,000M KWH electricity on average per year 1 million households spent altogether (1 household spent about 5,000 KWH electricity on average per year), it is believed that given SCI's soaring power and ownership of increasing data centres, SCI's high valuation at least 20x PER is highly expected, let's saying valued at above $15 over a very long term.

Very slow decline to 48.8M shorted shares. Next week will test key resistance level of $7. Successful breakdown above this level will open the road toward new high! Refer to Q&A as announced today on SGC website. This is a great news for investors! Sembcorp may secure a long term income - rental plus share of profit on large high powered land in UK with one or few hyperscalers where there are heavy data centres in response to high AI demand.

| Small decline to 49.5M short position. No matter how high the electricity price is persistently over coming months in SCI's favour, completion of Alinta Energy acquisition will have a great impact on SCI's bottomline, IPO listing of India assets on SCI's cash flow and profitability. SCI's FY2025 PER of 12.69 should be aligned well with STI's average PER of 15.98 as of yesterday. So it is cheap and still appealing to foreign investors as long as 60%-70% dividend policy take effect from FY2026 onward with SCI's forecasted FY2026 PER of 10. Next week may see more funds flowing into SCI stock. Within next 2 months will likely see $8-$9.

Retail investors strongly on accumulation while few institutional investors pushed up. For the past few days, short sell exceed 50% of daily trading volume. But SCI did not yet reach below $6. While short sellers technically have to pay the dividend amount back to the lenders of the stock, the sharp macro-selloff pushing the stock from S$6.69 down to S$6.12 gave shortists plenty of room to cover their positions for a net gain. If they delay closing their short positions, they may miss all the net gain in next month time.
