A small positive today. STI is down while Seatrium is flat.

Seatrium is likely to win one FPSO contract mainly because of the local content requirement. Seatrium owns the largest yard in brazil. The worry is longer term...COOEC will keep coming back to the Petrobras plate for more if they have got a foot hold.

One point to add, Steel price is on the decline, good for them as bid price is always based on previous higher price. Profit margin will improve further.

But if it so good, why Keppel cannot find a strategic buyer to buy whole lot at higher price?

ssw518      ( Date: 29-Jul-2023 10:56) Posted:

Agreed.
1) Keppel will continue to sell their holding which is known to public
- key reason to aviod high interest and continue their investment plan
2) Although there is a high outcry on climate, but economically / financial support
to poorer country is not there
3) Country with fossil fuel as key income is still unwilling increase support whereby economy
is still highly dependant on them, can imagine if all of them take a 50% cut in oil supply.
going green is a future trend, outcry is loud but government is still slow.
4) base on last report Seatrium is best at 60% cap utilization, need at least 15% more but
not sure about they are equipment readiness (previously from KOM which i feel needs plenty of upgrade)
5) strong cash likely first payment from their mega contract, which need to be very carefully utilize

it should takes another 1-2 reporting period to tell if it' s worth and at what point to put in the money.
for current, if Keppel sell at 12x, use that as a low base, Keppel like to start selling in early Sept again.
my view dyodd

I think it might not be too late to revisit this ticker and start accumulating next year.

I feel now is to focus on realising all contracts value, cut costs and bring in more contracts.
I understand things take time. So I won' t expect any real profits or dividends soon. I would like to hear more concrete deliveries and plans to bring costs down such as new technologies, cheaper but better material etc.
Interesting to know what they plan to do with their 2bil cash hoard?
vested.

A bit slow at the begin, later may see very fast at finishing

Once Seatrium pierce through 0.145 - 0.146 level, we will see 0.15 levels.
