StarHub owns 60 per cent of Ensign InfoSecurity, a cyber-security joint venture with Singapore investment firm Temasek that comprises former subsidiaries Accel Systems & Technologies and D' Crypt. During the last quarter, StarHub and D' Crypt' s founding shareholders sold their shares in D' Crypt to Temasek for $100 million, turning it into an indirect subsidiary of Ensign
Their balance sheet not that strong, that' s the problem. They keep borrowing in the past to pay high dividend. I hope they will consolidate within the next 2 years... the market Super saturated and with the amount of competition and limited growth in the internet, paid tv, and hard ware sales. The high CapEX just don' t make sense.

It is the ultimate win- win deal for starhub
Temasek use all its own money to buy all the stake in dcrypt from starhub
Freeing up all these money and commitment tied up under starhub
And temasek say ... hey u never lost an arm.. but in fact this arm i will join it for free together with the body we own... and the jv body is complete with left and right arm for starhub to use

Actually starhub did not gave up its major unit cybersecurity
It was in fact its stake was bought over by temasek holding and then temasek reinserted it under ensign infosecurity ( a joint venture between starhub and temasek holdings )..
Making it.more lean and integrated for starhub
No more cable tv... all switch to fibre
Profits not there leh. U compare your bills 2 yrs ago versus now. Cable tv no people buy, internet need to sell cheap, mobile sell every cheaper (threat of MVOs and TPG)
Enterprise... they just gave up 1 major unit to temasek. Cyber solutions is not taking off.
