In Singapore, as for electricity supply to retailers, SCI has presently about 1200 MW gas-fires power plant alongside 4th Q 2026 ready 600 MW hydropower plant which will definitely be significantly more profitable than a 1,200 MW gas-fired power plant, despite this latter having half the maximum generation capacity. The reasons being significantly more profitable is no fuel (gas) cost owing to free water usage from internal water supply, no carbon tax and other low operating costs like maintenance costs. Gas-fired power plant has struggled with unfavourable gas supply price, resulting in moderately low selling margin. High electricity retail price can mainly offset this low margin. I will show calculation as to how much pre-tax profit 600 MW hydropower plant can generate per year. Assuming plant capacity factor of 0.6 (60%) and 30 cents per KWH ($300 per MWH) for year 2027, then compute 600 MW x 0.6 x $300 x 24hr x 365 days = $946M revenue minus tens millions costs. As observed, it has been too early for retail investors to exit SCi. We should look forward to next Fy2026 as 600 MW hydropower can supply sufficiently to data centres where AI technology has been newly booming, thus having a big positive impact on net profit.
So good that you always got things right. Shorted sembcorp when it was down. Always took profit before it's bounce. Long banks when they were up. Cleared position always before correction. You are no longer human. Not inhumane I mean

SembCorp has   not been   removed from MSIC. It has been moved from big cap index to small cap index in MSIC. While some institutions were selling on 31 August, there must be also other institutions buying contractually.   The sellers dumping 70 mil at a lower price last few minutes is just not something normal as   they can always sell at much higher price
Wah lao. You seriously don't know what happened yesterday?
Sembcorp Industries (U96) was officially removed from the MSCI Singapore Index during MSCI's August 2026 Index Review (announced August 12, with execution effective at the close of trading today, August 31).
This index deletion triggers a distinct structural sell-off:
Forced Passive Outflows: Passive ETFs, mutual funds, and institutional mandates benchmarked against the MSCI Singapore Index are contractually required to liquidate their holdings in U96 by the August 31 closing bell to match the new index constituents.
Technical Liquidation vs. Business Reality: Algorithms and institutional desks dump inventory into the market to meet rebalancing deadlines, causing temporary gap-downs and volatility that have nothing to do with Sembcorp's underlying operational health or dividend capacity.
Analyst Perspective: Major research desks (including DBS, OCBC, Citi, and CGS International) treat this MSCI removal as a pure technical liquidity event, viewing the forced institutional selling as a temporary mispricing window. Major brokerage research coverage remains positive. Analysts from DBS and Maybank retain Buy ratings with target prices ranging from $6.40 to $7.30,

Bear in mind yesterday was the last day of August and it is usually a time for institutions to do window dressings for their accounts. The last minute sell down in heavy volume at lower closing price do tell us they are not very keen to hold on to their shares.     Only if we know why.

| It is also good to know that 76 mil was dumped in the last few minutes before closing time yesterday. It does not looks like they were shorting but clearing their holdings yesterday at the last minut |

| Good to be aware that short sell volume was about 7 mil and the total volume was 110 mil   most of sellers yesterday were share holders.   Although the price now went up about 4% but the volume was only 15 mil.   Like shortists already covering.  |

Haha at least you finally admit you have no logic! Screaming ' SELL' for years just as a personal hobby because of FOMO doesn' t change the fundamentals. While you are busy shouting without any reason, the big boys are looking at the logic of a 22% dividend hike and buying up the dip.

SCI once again was being bought up by institutions last week - 4th highest insitutional purchase.

Meaning |
| TREND |
DO NOT BUY &mdash FAIL |
The broader trend structure has not turned bullish. Price is still dealing with the descending trendline and resistance zone. |
| RS-STI [1D] |
WEAKENING 3.67 &mdash FAIL |
Relative strength versus STI is still deteriorating. Even though today' s price is strong, Sembcorp has not demonstrated sustained market leadership. |
| IMPULSE |
STRONG 4/5 &mdash PASS |
Short-term momentum has improved considerably. Four of your five momentum requirements are present. |
| INSTITUTIONAL |
WATCH &bull BULL 54% &bull RVOL 1.42× &mdash FAIL |
Volume is above normal, but not exceptional. 54% bullish participation is also only moderately positive. Enough to watch, not enough to call institutional confirmation. |
| SMART MONEY |
ACCUMULATION &mdash FAIL |
The system sees possible accumulation, but accumulation itself is not a buy trigger. You want it to progress into confirmed markup. |
| MARKUP SCORE |
4/10 &mdash FAIL |
Only four markup conditions are present. This is far from a convincing markup phase. |
| DISTRIBUTION |
2/10 LOW &mdash PASS |
Little evidence of aggressive selling/distribution. Positive. |
| ENTRY |
NOT EXTENDED &mdash PASS |
Price hasn' t run so far that a future entry would automatically be considered chasing. |
