Yup, I am putting some faith in there. Probably having lots of bureaucratic red tape and so on. Hoping the clouds will clear once either the trade-war sentiments abate or Big Bully Trump suddenly hit the brakes on arm-twisting both allies and rivals alike.

tech company do financial business across national boundary without proper license.
it is only a matter of time time that those responsible for law will know how to implement control.
want to do banking business. get a banking license first.
want to do retail business register with acra. not just because one is in virual world then no need to follow the law.
law can always put if a buyer is physically here or ip range belongs to here. then follow law here.
if not one day when one of these non license tech company go busrt then consequences can be very damaging.
license and control.

Simple put....wld u put yr money in a bank like OCBC DBS or w tencent. Wld someone ( wealth mgt/ Ins) goes to OCBC ?GE w $1M investment or past it to Tencent .....I dont see it happening over 10/20 years...( IF and only if this tech giant can come in )
Banks have a long traditional history .....see how ppl still believe in Swiss banking.
So , I am not worry in at least the nex 50 yrs . :))

banking is about lending and collecting.
how well a bank can collect back will have direct impact on the bottom line.
count egg/chicken everyone also can do. cut cost also. but if in the end. the shrew borrower run road with the money
then bank will bang boss.
