spoke to someone regarding sci and what his thought. after the demerger left with energy and urban.
urban is a small component while energy is good but sg market alone is too small and the rest of the geogrsphy is challenging.
after the exercise what next ?
look like i have to relook again

Demerger gets SCI into two main sectors that it can develop. Permanently locked Shareholders for long term profits? I think that's good. Keep for 5 years and beyond. If minus SCM free shares, still at $1.00, you sell to me.

The price level must be low enough to entice people (retailers mostly) to buy with the foc SCM share in mind.
The fear is after buying, price goes south so much so to lock in the new buyers till the D day and SCM also goes
even more south to hit the main objective. Permanently lock in both SCI and SCM shareholders.

m/thanks. i was contemplating to buy smm. looking at the way it goes, likely to go below 20c. now it makes more sense to buy after 27 aug
the way bb is pushing ms and rts also gone. maybe should buy sci for every 100sci get 427smm free. but i was told after xe, sci price will also drop.

Worthless because most likely, SMM shares will trade below 20cents after the rights shares start trading in mkt. if the sentiment is that SMM share are worth 21cents, there should be buying of SMM rights since the total cost is $0.201 per share. The reason is that people expect SMM shares to trade below $0.20 upon completion of rights issue. Look at SIA MCB. I recalled the MCB rights were not taken up at $0.001. What is the issue price ($1) vs current price ($0.9) now?

buy scm ms now is higher than buy the rights which is 20.5 - 21c. isn' t it better to buy the rts convert to ms which abt 20.1c ?
is the person wants to sell the rts meaning they are not prepared to take up ?

There is no buy queue. 83million rights on the 0.001 sell queue.

Even if you wish to sell the rights, you may not be able to. Only way is to subsribe to SCM shares now.

can someone help ? don' t understand this whole recapitalsation of smm and demerger from parent sci.

experts, how does this capital raising exercise works ? to be entitled as sci sh for the free smm share when is the last day to own sci shares ? thanks

Good points. I agree with you. Every investor has to consider the following two unknowns:
1. Will the SCM distributioncloser to 4200 or 4900 per 1000 SCI shgares?
2. Assessed future plans for SCM.

These will be clearer after 11 Sep and later this yr.

As for me, I am willing to put my money now on SCI at $1.81 because i assess SCI will do well with SCM cut off and believing TH has good plans for SCM.

I guess the problem many of us here have is, managing of expectations.

You may not like to hear what I have to say, and to understand this, we must put ourselves at a neutral position. I said it before, and will say it again....The SCM shares arises from the distribution are NOT Free. There are only 2 types of people here. 1 will see it as free, the other will see it as a package. In the stock market, always remember there is a correction after the ex date. If that is the case and if you agree, that means whatever entity in the cum is NOT free.

Apparently market sees today' s SCI price as a package that includes SCM. Those who do not need SCM shares would likely buy SCI after the Ex date. Makes sense?

But all is not lost. There could be many out there who are still unaware. Once the Rights of SCM are settled and when SCI is assigned Cum Distribution status, price will likely rise a little. By how much, that will depend on how many people left in the market who view SCM shares as Free.

vol @ 0.1c is reducing. good chance to collect the rights. the vol to sell @ 0.2c has increased. probably those who bought above 85c or more selling away their entitlement. painful.
anyway if the alert sound .... means tiok already

hector, not fearful but careful. looking at the trade summary, there is a sizeable buying up. i am waiting for dust to settle then decide. likely next week will be clearer to decide.

smm ms and rts are disengaged or don' t co-relate in the trading. don' t make sense. just pulled out from the q
maybe should focus more on the ms than the rts
still trying to be careful, $20,000 still a lot of money
