If you want follow my standard for your oil price, please look below & see if you are up to standard before quoting my name.

Whether your 1 week oil price come true, you need to honor you words + comment & finish it 1st.

FYI:
● Time Period: I reduced to 2 years (10 Nov 2014 to 10 Nov 2016) on 1 Dec
● Reputation Bet:
My prediction that NOL will rise above $1.065 within 2 years (* Have reputation bet- if my prediction do not come true I will leave sharejunction forever )

It will be back after this fall. US economic is good. China, japan and India start stocking at this low price. Instead of shale oil production put a stop, offshore deep water drilling has stopped first. 2mio is required to cut, with low oil price consumption will be increased.

Since u predict 3 years NOL wil be back to 1.06. I also predict oil price will spike and break 141 per barrel in 3 years time, just because us economic peak at 3 years time and production can't catch up after this round of price drop.

Oil price won' t hit below 60, may be not even 65 after last crash. Oil price will go up and maintain 70 to 75 next week. Buyers will start to think present price is a good price to buy and fill up their storage tank. Consumers will drive further and longer with cheaper fuel. 93mio barrel vs 2mio. The 2 mio supply glut can be easily digested. 70 to 75 is also sufficient to slow shale oil and deep water oil project drilling.

Talking bout prediction, My prediction for NOLis NOL will be no more in current form in 5 years time ( the window for asia financial crisis to strike). The bottom for shipping is reached only when big inefficient shipping entities worldwide goes bellyup. Long term trade recovery will be based on FTAs agreements reached world wide boosting global trade post crisis. I can be wrong but its very obvious given the rate of cashflow loss , the dire over supply capacity , existence of much stronger competition and the incredible mountain of debt which will only get worse when interest rate rise inevitably in the next 5 years. Which means this business is not sustainable in current form due to the high cost of assets locked in when the former CEO made that fateful decision to buy a entire new fleet at peak ship prices and subsequently quit. Shipping capacity glut is an external uncontrollable event and the natural laws of market forces will bankrupt inefficient player with high debt and poor cashflows. If Apl (the only cashcow with bright prospects is sold ), the door is open for removing TH support and remaining company is ripe to rot away. Not much value can be salvaged in the event of liquidation since remanding assets can only be sold at distressed prices and the current debt load is significantly higher than what market prices can fetch for those assets. Who will want to buy NOL old ships(by then) when new and even better ship cost less to built in a crisis when commodities and labour cost is so cheap. There will finally be a time of reckoning of true asset values, banks and senior holders of debt and bonds will be partially compensated but ordinary share holders will be wiped out. Privately run shipping lines can then finally have a chance to grow the shipping business organically and built a world class shipping line. Mr Teo ss is ripe to reap the rewards and will be immortalized as one of the local wealthy magnates rising on the post financial crisis global shipping recovery.

Dear Doufei, oil price drop will benefit NOL because of lower fuel purchase. Oil price constant drop daily, will contribute to a higher earning for NOL due to oil price is highest expenditure in shipping.

For every USD 1 drop, what is the cost saving for NOL based on the total number of ships & its operating oil tonnages in NOL operating capacity?

In the long term, do you think it will benefit NOL & what is the impact on NOL? Do you think stock market is operated by shortists or common sense win? Or do you think shortists can win the entire smart trading realm?

At Singapore Airlines Ltd (SIA), second-quarter operating profit rose 51 percent almost entirely due to a reduction in fuel costs.

SIA earlier this month said lower fuel prices were beneficial for its operations, but that its hedging strategy would damp the impact of a decline in oil prices. The airline hedged 65.3 percent for the second half of this year at $116 a barrel.

"SIA adopts a hedging policy of consistently hedging for our fuel, and therefore the purpose, of course, is not to speculate in the market, but to ensure that we reduce the volatility of fuel price movements on our earnings,"

● My Remark on SIA:
SIA hedged for 2nd half of 2014 @ $114/ barrel. After oil used up, SIA will hedge again @ oil price around $67/ barrel for 2015. Do oil price drop benefit them in 2015? I hope to have answered your question as a whole, including beneficial to Air as well as Shipping with regards to oil price significant drop.
