What' s going on? Prices raised for nearly 1 week and only after SGX query, Co is now replying to SGX admitting an announcement to be made. Someone already gotten information earlier? Not vested.

I am sure BW published all members, else the average numbers will be worst. If 80:20 rule applies, 80% of deals ($41.6m) closed by 20% of the sale force (84.4k), the number is still not high. $493 for 6 months and about $986 for 1 year. Need to see next financial announcement to check on the growth of memberships and sales.

Not vested and no intention to go in at thishigh level despite all the good talks about this Co for  a simple reason, 422,000 distributors/members closed deal amounting to  $52m in 1st half FA16. Averaged $123 per headcount in 6 months, at most $250 per headcount.  That is my conern, what' s the growth rate expected?

Look back at AR for Yr 2015, I suspect the 8 cts dividend might actually be 0.8 cts instead, it' s illogical based ob the financial performance. Prior to the latest announcement, I  nearly bought  this counter, but I held back. Waiting for " Black Swans" opportunity to pick up this counter.

VIPs play with their own money, GENs can do better, small pool of VIPs is ok. If play on money borrowed from GENs, and later no money to repay, the bigger the pool of VIPs, the worse for GENs. It' s very funny for Casino Operator to lend you money hoping you win and repay your loan. You win, Casino loose. You loose and can not repay, Casino also loose. What kind of logic?

Can Genting Singapore survive shrinking global VIP revenue?

By:
Jude Chan

SINGAPORE (Sept 20): Morgan Stanley Research says its 2017 growth estimate of 4% y-o-y for global VIP gambling revenue is at risk, amid a &ldquo shrinking VIP world&rdquo despite better profitability outside Macau.

The risks are elevated by slowing macro-economic growth in China &ndash the major source of VIP demand, Morgan Stanley says in a report on Sept 12.

Global VIP revenue fell sequentially by 3% in 2Q16, after being flat for the last two quarters, it said.

However, the research house points out that the decline narrowed on a y-o-y basis. Global VIP revenue fell 6% y-o-y in 2Q16, compared to a decline of 19% y-o-y in the previous quarter.

This was mainly due to Macau VIP revenue, which fell 21% y-o-y in 2Q16. And there is no recovery in sight, according to Morgan Stanley.

&ldquo No new VIP tables have been allocated to newer casinos since 2015 and smoking ban could be implemented in future,&rdquo it says.

Excluding Macau, global VIP revenue increased 27% y-o-y in 2Q16, reversing out of two years of negative growth. This was driven by new casinos in Saipan and Vladivostok, as well as junkets moving to low tax jurisdiction like the Philippines.

Morgan Stanley notes that casinos outside Macau generate higher EBITDA than the losses incurred by Macau.

&ldquo Due to tax differentials, outside Macau, casinos tend to make higher VIP EBITDA margins. This is positive for the gaming industry, as a higher percentage of VIP customers' revenue goes to listed companies' profits,&rdquo the research house says.

Morgan Stanley&rsquo s global gaming team says its preferred stock picks for the sector are Star Entertainment in Australia, Bloomberry in the Philippines, and Paradise City in Korea.

&ldquo We favour companies with strong junket/VIP offering destinations and new facilities driving market share higher,&rdquo the research team says.

Genting Singapore, however, received an &ldquo underweight&rdquo rating.

&ldquo We expect negative earnings revisions to continue, due to poor management of VIP business that resulted in high bad debts,&rdquo Morgan Stanley says, adding that Genting Singapore is &ldquo losing to MBS&rdquo .

&ldquo Although the market may view overseas expansion positively in Japan and Jeju, we are bearish on legalization of casinos in Japan and the ability to generate decent ROIC, and competition from Paradise City,&rdquo it adds.

Shares of Genting Singapore closed 0.7% lower at 74 cents.

I have broker calling me to sell SMRT two day prior to AGM telling me if the EGM failed to get approval, the price might drop back to pre-offer level. I guessed someone might have listen to him and shorted instead, and got played out by the approval.

It' s kind of strange that lot of transactions were done at bought from sellers at 1.68 and sold to buyers at 1.675 when the TH' s offer is $1.68. After brokerage fee and other expenses, still got meat meh? Shortists covering? May be they shorted it thinking the EGM would not go thru' and price will drop back to pre-offered level.

I was in the queue for the bento set in and saw other shareholders exchanged bento voucher for the capitaland voucher. Hence, exchanged it to avoid queue knowing the fact that the bento set could be fantastic in view of the large turn out.take voucher is better option.

Mine had 2 siew mai, 2 hawaiian pizza slice, 2 soya braised winglets, 1 curry puff and 2 raisin pastry.

In that case, it's an assortment. An uncle and aunty were eating their bento set which has rice, potatoes, deep fried stuff (looks like fish slices to me). It's like what is given by Delmonte AGM and Singpost sometime back. Think can get at Food Court for less than $5

Too many people, unable to provide space for coffee/tea. Nets Flash Pay card with store value $30. One old auntie asked if the value can be transferred to Sr Citizen concesion card. I think she knew nothing about using the SMRT Nets Flash Pay Card to pay for her other purchases. The Bento voucher can be exchanged into Capitalnd Voucher of $5 instead of food.

What I meant was to free up and let broking firm to determined the fee structure and compete for business.

I think the commission structure should let the brokeing firms to fix in view of the Fair Trading Act. Taxi operators, School Bus Operators, Caoch Operators are not allowed to gang up to fix, why broking firms are exempted leh?
