Two points here. Chinese already bought half of the USA because after the 2008 financial and mortgage crisis upto recently, properties in the US was dirt cheap. Plenty of Americans were stricken poor, but the Chinese went bought their houses as a blessing in disguise for them so that some support of their property prices calm the price slide.
Second point: If our population reaches a mad 6 over million, imagine not only the properties short of supplies, but our roads too. Estimated 3 persons per family, and one family with one car , we will then have 2 million family cars population moving in our roads at peak hours. Including taxis, foreign vehicles, good vehicles, and pedestrians, imagine how jammed and packed the roads are going to be. Will we become sardines? I am wondering.
