No Posting when NOL going up. Seem like previous supporter either jump ship at last drop or just purely a shortist to ask people buy at high and sell at low. Interesting to see if freight index can break through 900 points or not. in short term, have to expect NOL sell APL Logistic soonest! |

Oil price shrink below 70 dollar, OPEC refuse to cut production, oil price will stay this level for minimum 6 month times. Hopefully, NOL can benefit from low oil price. |

Shipping is dependent on global economy outlook. But the profitability are subjected to Bunker Oil, Vessel Chartered Fee (Rental) and Shipping Volume. First 2 must be low and 3rd must be high and dependend on Global economy outlook. I kept negative view since month ago due to debt and operating issue(high oil price and over capacity in vessels) on the industry. But start to buy when price below 80 which fall within my purchase price and bunker oil is lowered and lowered. If oil price is lower further, I expect more vessels will move to fast streaming to provide faster delivery schedule and better service quality, less vessels will be used and cause vessel chartered rate on fall. Shipping volume shall grow continually as usual unless huge recession come again like 2008(based on data, the only year that shipping volume down in past 10 years was 2008-2009). Since 2010, container shipping lines were not profitable in average. In my opinion, it is not because of shipping volume(grow continually) not vessel chartered fee(stay at low level due to over capacity) but the Bunker fuel price. All companies failed to transfer this cost to customers but only Maersk Line is able to manage it and fully utilize giant vessel and low streaming to improve their operation margin. Game is changed. I started to bet on this industry and betting bunker oil will go further down in next 1 year due to shale oil and deepwater offshore oil holes have been drilled, oil & gas company will not close their valves since they have billion of dollar debt to pay. Oil price will go lower and lower just like coal, oil, silver, copper and other commodity price. Let' s see the development. The low oil price effect shall be reflected in next year quarter, if NOL still fail, just their management is fook off the whole thing.

Shipping is heavily dependent on global economy outlook since this trade is the main form of ttransportation for most of the goods. That said, shipping has remained unfavourable since 2008, what is your basis to claim that things will turn favourable within 3 years?
I'm not questioning your statement, I'm just curious and trying to learn :) |
